Joe Hall Of Heroes Zartan and Storm Shadow. Keep checking this thread for updated information on the Hall Of Heroes Line as we expect to see images of all 10 figures to be released today.
"The Hall of Heroes not only celebrates what the fans like most in the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA saga,” said Michael Ritchie, Director of Marketing, G.I. JOE, “it is a bridge between the celebration of the storyline’s 25th anniversary and the kick-off to one of the most exciting years ever in the history of G.I. JOE” With induction into the G.I. JOE Hall of Heroes comes a new version of the top ten figures. Each will be released with unique deco and commemorative packaging. The “Hall of Heroes” line will be released in spring 2009."

The packaging you get doesn't warrant the price you'll have to pay.
I care a lot about packaging from just an eye-candy perspective, but NOT for a figure I already have 20 of whether they change the faceplate, the arms or add real flapjacking action.
These are like the missing link between real toys sold in stores and AFA graded toys.
Now if you get these graded it will be a figure inside a case, which is inside another case, which will be put inside another case. God forbid Hasbro put out a supreme collectors edition which comes in an acrylic case already.... I'd just explode. SidDarth: Quote:

I agree. I'm not buying any if they really are e-tailer exclusive. Quote:

The ten figure line up was voted on by fans early this year, winners were:
Snake Eyes w/ Timber
Snake Eyes (black commando)
Storm Shadow (84 style)
Firefly
Zartan (wave 3 07, though the frontpage suggest the wave 11 figure might be used instead)
Beachhead
Flint
Crimson Guard
Cobra BAT
Plus the Viper
I can't help but wonder that if response is good enough on these, that Hasbro might not use this format in the future for a "GI Joe vintage" line like the one Star Wars fans love. Ewokhunter92: Quote:

I am saying, for something that is offered through retail sales, NOT aftermarket, this is steep.
Sure, some direct to consumer stuff is higher, but this is just overpriced repaints. Gentleman: Quote:

Snake Eyes w/ timber: 5 pack version (if possible, with darker gray paint apps)
Snake Eyes (commando): for repaints sake, perhaps he'll be all black for real this time?
Storm Shadow: probably 5 pack version.. or a hybrid: older version with 5 pack's arms?
Firefly: camo done right? If not.. at least fix his webgear (looks like he's got no neck with it on)
Zartan: yeah, should be wave 11. Hopefully not with the 5 pack paint app (sucks hard).
Beachhead: Has to be the comic 2 pack version. C'mon Hasbro.
Flint: 5 pack body, wave 1 head
Crimson Guard: gray/silver faceplate! If possible, w/ removable helmet
BAT: can't think of any improvements? The Conflict: i can see my local comic shop selling these for 30 bucks or more SidDarth: Quote:

BTW, the cost to me from Hasbro is not $5 - $6. I'm not sure where the original poster got those numbers but they are more expensive than that. Bosskmr: What an Fing joke!!!!
$10 to $12 for these???? This Viper should be released in the regular assortments.
Bunch of BS!!!!!!!!!!! Greyryder: Quote:

Thanks for your help and I will definitely be visiting your store when you have them in stock.
Also, will all 10 figures be released at the same time or are they going to be staggered? SidDarth: Quote:

All 10 will be released at one time.
I don't normally do pre-orders b/c there's always a chance Hasbro will cut orders. Also, it gives me a chance to inspect the product before I sell it and I don't like sending bad product out to my customers.
I'll make sure there will be a front page posting once they are in stock. King Kahn: i like the packaging.
i liked it when mattel did it 8 years ago with their MOTU re-issues better though.
i hate to think how much these are gonna cost. Gentleman: A CC should be there too. Probably the one from the 4 pack with the chrome faceplate but without the harness.
And the Cobra trooper from the same pack but with the average trooper webgear, not the parachute.
And others. Shin Densetsu: Received some clarification: The Zartan in Hall of Heroes may actually be the wave 3 version, the front page post has been edited to reflect this. frankthedamned: Quote:

However,
With the success of the line the way it went, paying less than $5 at first for figs on cards like we had as kids, we were all like, "This is what Hasbro should have done with Star Wars VOTC!" No clamshell, simple vintage packaging, great figures.
Now, this seems really out of place, especially with the 5-packs on the horizon. It is the ultimate Collector's collectible. We already got nice foil cards, we got great updates to issues with figs we needed fixing, where's the real incentive for me, who already hates paying $7 a piece, to spend over $10 for display packaging? Even if I were a MOC collector, I would probably pass. Quote:

VIPER 48: I think the package looks awesome. I know i will be getting at least one of each. I don't care what the price is, i won't pass these up...If possible, i will pre order an entire case of them to offset the 10 to 12 dollar price per figure... Knighthart: Designed for the MOC collector! doc_mccoy: Unless these get cooler as we see more pictures I sure as hell am not going to spend $120 to buy repaints of figures I already have in eye catching packaging. Completist...yes. Dumbass...NO.
Pretty sneaky Hasbro! Is this the send off for the 25th line as we know it???? I predict the end is near folks!
Doc Barefoot Jedi: Pretty...but I don't see these being successful sold as they are at the price they're talking about. paraviper: Quote:

Oh, and this looks great... price is blah though, and I don't see anything here to make me want to buy it. We'll see on the other figures though. shdwknt: I will be carrying these in store.. and I promise.. my cost will be cheaper then bigbad, entertainment earth, small joes, and brians toys.. my prices always are.. I perfer to make VERY LITTLE markup and supply to the community as close to cost as possible! Fast_Draw: Quote:

I do like the gold stands though. arc30: I won't be opening them either. I just really like the packaging on these. nighthawk: They used SE mold on Firefly but I do like the darker colors. However, I'll pass on this one probably as I have everything it comes with already. Unfortunately, he comes with a knife sheath with no knife and a pistol with no holster for it. The Firefly link on the page doesn't work, so here's the direct link for you guys. http://www.arashikageclan.com/images...hohfirefly.JPG Cobra-La: I'm not really digging these yet. Too pricey for LB customs. I expected more. slim19722: They used SE arms & legs, the torso is someone else's. Still looks cool though. | All times are GMT -4.
