| Cancelled Modern Era Gold Masked Cobra Viper Leader Surfaces |

This set was supposed to be exclusive to Toys 'R' Us, but was canceled. In it's place is an upcoming pack with Footloose, the other figures in that pack are currently unknown.
As most fans prefer the retooled Viper with "fixed" hands, and chrome helmet(as seen in the Cobra 5-pack and Hall of Heroes wave), could this set see the light of day eventually, but with the retooled Vipers instead? The retooled Viper is a very popular army builder, with fans sometimes buying the 5-packs just for the Viper.

As for Mercer, he's really not that big of issue either, I wouldn't mind having the official stands though. I didn't know the 5-pack had been cancelled. Bummer. What is it going to take to get an army builder multi-pack? Steel Brigade: To bad he didn't have a bunch of these for BIN... I'd be game.. I also could care less about that Mercer figure, if he would have been in his Joe uniform instead of a Viper one, then I would be disappointed about this pack being cancelled. I did just the same job, if not a little better with some gold arcrlyic in about 10 minutes, and I got the goggles looking nice, too. this could have been a factory error, but i'm putting my money on it being a custom job. not that it is a bad custom, just don't think it is a leaked figure. Zefram: If you only have one chrome-face viper, then it's real easy to make an awesome viper officer with Tamiya clear yellow. The one I did stands out nicely from the rank and file. I don't think so, this is from the cancelled TRU Viper 5 pack from Hasbro the sellers history alone proves it.
The paint error you mentioned proves nothing either a lot of the unreleased figures we have seen have had small paint errors. Hellion42: Quote:

The sad thing is if people payed attention to unitedwell923's auctions he has been putting up 1 or 2 unreleased figures for auction then he sees what they go for and then he puts the rest up at a "Buy it Now" price based on what the auction went for.
Example: He recently had just the gear for the Alley Viper and it went for 12.00 and change now he has the AV gear for 12.99 "BIN"
Example 2: Resolute SE went for 228.00 now he has Resolute SE for 230.00 "BIN"
Example 3: ROC Flash went for around 34.00 and change now he has him for 35.00 "BIN"
Oh well I guess hindsight is always 20/20 and no one knew, so no harm no foul and it's not 100% accurate, but I would say it happens about 90% of the time
