I need to vent so I'll do it here...
I am fed the *%\÷ up with this game. I like the characters, I like the plot, and I like the environment. And I really, really, tried to like the gameplay. But it is bullshit. Total, epic, bullshit. The RPG mechanic breaks the game, and makes PVP impossible. A human being does not survive five, or six, or seven bullets. They definitely don't survive the hundreds of bullets you throw at them in this game. It violates the suspension of disbelief when I can take a person by surprise, headshot him repeatedly, and still have him turn around and kick my ass. When I play a game, I expect the playing field to be more-or-less level (e.g. you win by playing well, not by grinding gear) and I expect it to bear some resemblance to reality. If somebody gets shot by a burst from an M60, that person should cease to exist. Period, the end. You don't charge face-first into an automatic weapon - behind defilade - and expect to win that fight. Unless, of course, you're a five year old playing one of these idiot video games. The focus on gear makes the game unplayable. I tried, I really did. I levelled my gear, I optimized my build, I attack from behind, I wait until the enemy is worn down by other combatants... And I stil lose. It is abundantly clear that actually playing the game makes no damn difference if your gear set is even slightly below the other guy's. The game bears no relation to reality, and the combat is so utterly lopsided and idiotic that it is completely unplayable. |

I never tried 'The Division' sounds like a typical gear driven game.
I for my part started playing Rainbow 6 Siege and really enjoy it. Learning curve can be extreme (Headshot and you are dead), but with a team it can be really pleasing. VC |

I've really wanted to delve into R6, but I'm not a big fan of online play period. There's no single player campaign in Siege, is there?

You can play 'Situations', missions like freeing a hostage, but in that case alone. Furthermore Terrorhunt, the usual multiplayer maps played against bots and you can play that with other players in team, or also alone 'Lone Wolf'. But yes, it is actually meant as multiplayer shooter. VC |
