As everone said so far...
Mario Kari Wii Metroid Prime 3: Echoes (more so if you played the previous 2 games) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Super Mario Galaxy However, I also recommend... Super Smash Bros Brawl for the fun fighting as a bunch of Nintendo characters insanity (Snake from Metal Gear games is also in it as well as Sonic the Hedgehog) If you ever played Super Smash Bros or Super Smash Bros Melee, you know what you'll find here, but still, it's a good game. Especially with others. Super Paper Mario plays like a traditional Super Mario Bros. game but with some elements of an RPG game as well as just being plain fun. You get to play as Mario, Princess Peach, Bowser, and Luigi (when you find them all anyway). Each has their own special abilities to help you in finding new areas and all kinds of stuff. You also find these fairy-like creatures called Pixls that can be used for certain things like one whom can blow up wals, or one that can attack enemies for you. |

oooh I second the mario galaxy and smash Bros.
Forgot i had those and how much fun they were. Galaxy is weird and hard to control at first, but once you wrap your mind around the controls its amazing.

A good inexpensive game is TMNT. There are a bunch that I love to play, however I can't remember the titles (they aren't necessarily the big name games). Mario Kart rocks. Star Wars Lego and Zelda are winners. The Lego shooter game is a great one too. And the gun is better for Call of Duty than that retarded Wii Zapper.

I only own Super Mario Galaxy, Mad World, and House of the Dead: Overkill.
Super Mario Galaxy is fun, good for the whole family Mad World is fun, for adults...probably some kids too...don't recommend it for kids, though HOTD: Overkill is awesome, not for kids either

There are no good games for the Wii. Return it and buy yourself an Xbox plus Street Fighter 4.

Boom Blox uses the unique Wii controls really well.
Resident evil 4 is great on Wii if you skipped previous versions. Violent for small ones. Same for Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Zack & Wiki is an overlooked gem that should be only $20 or less if you find it. Lego Indy, Star Wars, and Batman are fun games to play with kids. Cooperative play. Unlock new characters, the 2nd player can join or drop out at any time. You have infinite lives and reappear right where your guy dies. Zelda, of course. Wario Ware is insane, hilarious fun. Super Smash Bros. Melée is fun! Tons of characters beat the heck out of each other, but it's not violent at all. Plus adjustable difficulty. Pikmin was a great Gamecube game that has just been released for the Wii with new controls. Advice: Aside from those Lego games, is almost ALWAYS a bad idea to buy a game based on a movie or cartoon. Especially on Wii. These games are rushed out in time to sell based on name while the property is hot, and the Wii version is usually one of the already terrible games designed for ps3 & 360, but downgraded some with awkward wiggly controls tacked on at the last minute. A seemingly simple game will frustrate a child who is helpless to control their drunk, clumsy character, the you will be pissed off after they ask for help and you discover that you have no hope of helping them either through the repetitive, sloppy mess you just bought. |
