How to decide on consoles:
Look up a list of games you want. Write which systems they are for to the right of them. Add up which system has the most. If it is the Wii, reroll. Once it is the PS3 or 360, buy the one that has more games you want. |

360 owners will tell you 360 is better. PS3 owners will tell you that PS3 is better. I'm a PS3 owner and of course I'm going to say PS3 is better. I don't care if Microsoft makes it easy on people to get a new 360 when it takes a crap on you, which it almost always does. You still have to go threw the hassle of dealing with getting another one. I would rather not worry about taking a chance on a 360 breaking and just buy a PS3...

I'm on my first 360 no problems. My PS3 is in the shop for the 5th time. I know that sounds odd, imagine how I feel. Every time they send me a refurbished console. Every time it has a new problem. My warranty runs out in March so I hope this time is the last. My PS3 when working is only a BLU-RAY player for me with the occasional quality game to play (by this I mean MGS4, Little big planet those are few and way too far in between IMO). Xbox is the choice for me hands down. If I knew I'd have this many problems with my PS3 I would have saved my money.................
Damn, man. I am not gonna buy one of those!!! I believe you, as I was in Toys R Us a few months ago and the PS3 they had on demo was making all this noise from the fan. That sucker must have been overheating because the fan was going WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, yeah, I can only imagine having that kind of noise in my living room. 400 bucks for that kind of noise? Get outta here! |

PS3 RULES! Blu-Ray made my choice for me. As soon as blu-ray won against hd-dvd I bought my PS3. I play a bunch of old school games from the 80's and it'll play those sweet midway, capcom classics for the ps2. I love that machine. It does get frickin hot, but I don't play it forever. I'm not into the super new games. I always wait until everyone else is bored of them and buy them for 1/3 the price. I just bought the Star Wars Lego Saga for $20 NEW! Yeah, I waited 3 years for it! I love it too. Well, kick it ol school!

I had this dilemma back when gta iv came out. I went with the 360 for the possibility of downloadable content. i beat the game in a couple weeks and then gave it to a friend. the whole console. just got it back last month and all i've used it for is simulating baseball games.
I'd probably make the same decision if i had to again. Blu Ray hasn't convinced me its worth it. |

I have a 360. I'm on my 4th one b/c of the red rings but the warranty that comes with it makes it really easy to replace. I just take mine back to Best Buy and trade it out.
Online gameplay and graphics are great on it. the game selection is the best out there.

PS3 or 360... how many times have I heard the "which console is better?" question over the years. If there is anyting I've found out in the last 30 years is this... do you like cream in your coffee? Are you loyal to a certain brand of underwear? There have always been "fanboys" of certain consoles, so of course some are going to say whats better than the other. Like some have suggested, look at the facts but be careful for what some consider "facts". If your after a blu-ray player... you have plenty of options. The PS3 of course or maybe you have a PC? Buy one for that, I bought mine for about a $100 or pick up a standalone at best buy or wally world for just over $200. Do you IM alot on MSN or Yahoo? Do you like to browse internet on a console? Do you have a PSP? Do you like backwards compatability? Well... buy the original console in my opinion! The newer models of PS3 are not longer compatible with any PS2 games, but they do play PS1!, if you like that kind of thing. 360 has limited compatiblity there too, it only emulates by software. The PS3 isn't slated to be replaced for another 8 years and the 360 is rumored to be replaced in 4, "rumored" mind you. So make a list of your favorite genres, find out what each system offers besides those games ie. movies hd download/stream/disc format/online capability and the like.
A long story short, each offer so much is really depends on your personal tastes. As for me... I have them all, Have I had problems with some? Sure, would I buy them again? You bet. Do I like one more than another? Does anyone but me even really care? Nope! So go to a friends, visit a best buy and play with each and get online and compare specs and features. well, that's my .02 |
