as I said in the Infinite heroes thread, I plan on mostly getting characters that revolve around Supergirl. Since I am a big supergirl fanboy I'd buy them regardless of what line they are from.

I think you might have to be a member to view the link I am posting, but the 3.75" line from Marvel is called Marvel Heroes, with the subtitle Face Off/Team Up, depending on the characters. I know they were previewed at SDCC last year, but I don't think Toy Fair this year had anything. Here are a couple of pictures:

The worst things I have seen aside paint jobs are the proportions of some body parts. Shazam's head is HUGE! Especially when you see him next to Black Adam or Green Arrow.
Ever since I heard about this line I keep thinking this is Mattel's version of a modern Super Powers line. There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to try to completely outdo the Super Powers line next year by adding vehicles and modular playsets to up the ante. Now the bad thing is that it seems like Mattel is playing off of the novelty of the scale as the main selling point. The scale is the initial draw of most collectors, myself included, and articulation makes for a staying factor, again with me. However I think these can be better than what we have seen. I'm not expecting gijoe sized versions of 4H sculpts, but I am expecting something on par at least with Star Wars/Indiana Jones figures. Mattel can easily push it there, but its not there yet. |

The pics we've seen so far look like early versions. I'm sure the final ones we see on shelves will look better.

But why would a company release promo versions of figures if they weren't what they would look like in the end? Some of those, like Supergirl look horrid.

Well a lot of them didn't have any articulation added to them so I am guessing they could possibly be the earliest renditions finished. Some Prototypes can be pretty different from the final versions.
And yeah, I'm hoping Supergirl looks a lot better by the time she's released. if not I'll probably swap her head with someone else.

Something fairly interesting to me is the prices. $4.30 for one figure? Granted they have no accessories, but still. Their hands are also all rather... huge, oddly. But hey, I'll still probably collect, and am definitely interested in at the very least, Hal Jordan.

I've been praying for a while for some 3.75 superheroes figures, but I'm really dissapointed with the articulation on this. I have no problem with the designs, but again, they could be more realistic looking. After all, I will probably end up getting the A list characters.
