Gah, the draw back of a MiB collector. Was the new X Wing any good, quality wise? Mine is sealed. lol, Well I believed you. But did notice no Hasbro logo on the box but I assumed that could have been a stipulation of the deal with Disney. I assumed Disney was able to make a 3&3/4” item but only as a park exclusive? Otherwise they kind of screwed over the company that is paying for a license.

Thanks Yeet! I dont really have any of the new sequel figures save some 5poa R1 figures. Guess the new figures are on par with the new films.

The 6” guys are all great quality and so are their vehicles, but they cost a lot more so you’re obviously paying for it. |

But, the paint job is shit, the plastic feels cheap like the old Kenner vehicles. The electronic sounds are awesome but the interior has very little detailing and is largely just flat, overly glossy plastic. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy to have as big a Sandcrawler as is available, and the sounds take me back. There is something very nostalgic about the old Kenner vibe to be honest but I’m not very hopeful or impressed about Disney’s 1/18 scale product so far. I get the impression if Dis year had to replace Hasbro it would be bad. As a suppliement to the line, it’s cool to have a company plugging holes, but I don’t think I’d want Disney to carry the line. Is that right? Huh, it doesn’t feel like Hasbro plastic at all. I guess maybe Disney had them meet a specific price to sell it at and Hasbro went cheap in production to meet that cost? Sorry don’t know a thing about the industry. The interior is very devoid of play value and sculpted details compared to say the AT AT interior. The mechanical elevator sounds like an old 80s knock off wind up toy and not at all what I’d expect from Hasbro. Interesting.
Please understand I do love the toy, there is a charming quality to its “cheapness” because it feels like an 80s Kenner toy but again not what I’d like see as the main style for future vehicles. It this was the only way we would have gotten a new and much needed larger Sand Crawler then I’m all for it. You think so? I didn't think the First Order Tie fighter was bad. I like how you can fit two figures in it, and also like the black and red. I also didn't think the new red A-wing was bad, just a little small. |

Those two are some of the exceptions to the rule. Rey’s speeder and the FO Snowspeeder are good too, but a lot of them aren’t, for example the Tie Striker. It looks amazing, but its wings collapse under their own weight.

That pretty much sums it up lol. At least they’re making the toys accurate to the films quality wise . The 5poa figures themselves are pretty solid though, and the TLJ ones have fantastic sculpts and likenesses (the 5poa TLJ Kylo and Jake Skywalker have better head sculpts than any TVC figure).
For me the only value of the sequel trilogy 5 POA figures was a few heads and weapons that I used for Joe customs. Beyond that, those sequel trilogy figures were crap.

I'm surprised to hear your opinion on some of this. It's doesn't feel like cheap plastic to me, but time will tell on that I suppose. I thought the exterior paint job was terrific. The inside is way lacking in details, but I suppose it lends itself to customization in that way. It'd make a great action figure storage container if I was a kid. I could see my younger self throwing a bunch of figures in it and running off to my friends house with it. Not to mention it has a furnace on the inside.
I'm grateful that someone made one if Hasbro wasn't going to. I'm happy to have it. It is cool as a supplemental piece. I was just stressing the point that I wouldn't want anyone else but Hasbro doing the bulk of the 3 &3/4" line.
