So, apparently, Hasbro is coming out with two separate Vintage collection X-wings, released nearly at the same time. (Seems like a mistake to release both of them so close to one another).
One will be Poe's and one will be Luke's. The box art for the Poe one has been leaked and it will be coming out first (I believe). It's orange and an all new mold I believe. Both X-wings will have a starting price point of $100. Unfortunately, it looks like the Poe X-wing will not include any figures or extras. What do y'all think? I feel like $100 for an x-wing with no figures or lights and sounds is too much. On one hand, it kind of feels like make or break time for the vintage collection, and if we don't support this line, it will go away. On the other hand, I bought the skiff, and jabba's palace, and several TVC figures this year, so I feel I've done my part and will probably wait until this goes on sale. |

I agree about the price point and the weirdness that they are releasing 2 X-Wings at the same time, but I’m super glad they are making the newer X-wing in a larger scale than the last outing. I just wish it was even slightly bigger...one that matches the size of the larger one that came out in the late aughts.
I am ruffled by the $100 price tag, but I will be a dummy and buy it them at full price. That being said, I will probably buy a second Dameron Xwing at discount so I can customize one to look like his black xwing from the previous movies. May my waste of money help you find these at discount (aka - someone as to buy them at full price so that Hasbro continues to sell the line). Last edited by nightrattler; 09-18-2019 at 03:33 PM.. |

I'm the odd man out with all of this stuff. I'm not a collector, I buy stuff for my kids and nieces and nephews to play with. A few things I buy to customize as a hobby (and the customs go to the kids anyway) but I mostly buy as gifts for children to play with. So when an x-wing comes out for $100 it may as well not exist for me. I already bought the cheaper one (but even then only on clearance because I didn't care for that price point either) and I'm not going to drop a hundo on a small, one-man fighter...even if they hadn't previously sold me a smaller one. Frankly, everyone around me who wants an X-Wing already has one so I won't even be buying one at clearance.
It's to the point already where I don't bother buying a $15 SW figure unless it's something really special for whoever would get it. And of course there's not a lot of really special stuff in the lineup. And for troopers? I'm not troop building jack squat for the kids at that price. I bought a dozen Black Series Storm Troopers back when the line was around $10 per figure. I buy zero of them at $15 each. I'm already on the sidelines and they should have released the "good" X-Wings in the first place if they want parents buying them. That's my two cents.

I'm not a vehicle guy in general anyway. But when I got the sandcrawler for $100, I don't see where a single man X-wing with no special features is comparable. I thought the hovertank was massively overpriced, as well.

If they release both at the same time...I feel like Luke's will be a better seller. Maybe completists will go for Poe's if they already have Luke's, but I wonder if original trilogy fans will just buy a bunch of Luke's to stick it to Disney.

$100 is too much, but if they are gonna to make this vehicle it's about now or never (Or 2 years ago!). Not sure how the Sequel Trilogy will be thought of after Rise of Skywalker. Not many people could be demanding TVC Poe X-Wing next year.

I liked the Force Awakens, but they lost me at the Last Jedi for various reasons. I don't think the sequels will be in demand very much after they are over.
