The Vintage Collection: Are Case Assortments Improving? | Jedi Temple Archives Expected in August, along with the Hovertank. Although I think I saw some claims of shipping notices for hovertank earlier this week. We’ll see... Last edited by books; 07-05-2018 at 10:55 AM.. |

I am very excited about the Tie Fighter! Not $1200 Mexico Ebay excited but eagerly awaiting them to hit retail here. Sadly it won't be TVC mold (unless I'm wrong) but it would be nice to able grab three at retail prices to set up next to the Legacy Falcon. If it's a figure or vehicles that there are intended to be multiples of then count me in for a little squad. If things were to the correct scale I'd have to sell off half my collection for the space. Don't get me wrong I grabbed a bigger Falcn, Slave1, or AT-AT when I had the chance but I'm not a scale snob. An OT snob, yes, but not a scale snob.
I am a quiver of anticipation about anything TVC. What's nice about the mixing of old and new characters with TVC is I get to focus money on troop building since I don't buy most of the new characters. P.S. my Target 3 pack arrived today and man the figures are lovely. I'd put the Luke head up against TVC RotJ Luke head. Even if this 5 PoA head takes the silver metal it is better than most Luke heads. Palapatine looks amazing. The guard is shrouded in a solid pvc robe so it is what it is. What blows me away more than the head sculpts is the hands. It may sound like a silly thing but it makes a difference. I don't know if the hands are less adequate at equipping gear but man do they look nice. If Hasbro continues to produce 5 PoA figures of this quality then count me in. Depending on hot deep the line goes it would be fun to have a modern 5 PoA collection to display nest to a vintage collection. Someone pointed out that the reason Luke’s hair is more of a red-brown than dirty blonde is that the figure, and really the whole set, is something of a tribute to the original line, and is meant to be evocative of the original figures. Haven’t delved into the details on that, but I thought it was an interesting claim. Anyway they look great with any Vader and some RO stormies hanging out, watching. And at least in my case will likely have a copy of that new sculpt TIE in the background fairly soon as well. I’m right there with you as far as Echo base troopers and imperial gunners as well. 2019 is being hyped as a great year for OT TVC... we’ll just have to see. Maybe as soon as SDCC, as you said. And meanwhile we’ll have two new waves between now and the end of the year to keep us going... |

Just saw the first review, that I know of, for the Imperial Assault Tank over at JTA. Dang if it doesn't look good, the detail Hasbro put into it really stands out. The price is a little high, but it looks like it'll be worth it. I pre-ordered one, and plan to get another one, I want paint one up for my joes.

That tank does look nice. I will get one. But the completionist in me will have to get the tank commander dude before hand. It also looks like the bed area can be converted to a troop transport so I expect to see some interesting customs with it.

Update on TVC wave 2: a seller (robotkingdom) has put it up for preorder, shipping Aug 1. Most importantly, they have the case assortment info:
1 Alden Solo 1 Enfys Nest 1 Hovertank driver 1 Deathtrooper 1 Snoke 1 Kylo 1 Rey (Jakku) 1 FO Stormie Freaking repacks... |

I’m not happy either, but at this point I am just thanking the stars there will be no more Jyns for a while. Nothing against the character, but she’s been WAY too saturated for a single movie character. A single Snoke and a single FO stormtrooper....well...not wise choices, but not murder for the line either I don’t think. So if the wave stands or falls based on how more Rey and Kylo figures do, I think I can live with that. It seems fair for the era at least, even if I would have handled the line differently.
Steve Evans said in a video the other day that wave 3 will come out later this year. Likely that will include Cassian and the Scarif Trooper, the Range Trooper from Solo, Dr Aphra, and I think Luke TFA/TLJ. Hopefully there is still room for a good surprise in there. Definitely a downer piece of news, although that tank is looking pretty nice. |

I’m not worried about the Kylo, the three bigger TX towns I travel too seem to sell through him pretty decent. The Rey’s are troublesome, they are stacked up at the stores as well as the FO Trooper oddly enough. Either no one likes him or the army builders got their share during the BS release, that figure is stock piled beyond belief at every target I have been to. I personally got my fill during the BS release , I bought ten for my collection five for my oldest sons and both of my youngest boys also have a few. So Hasbro has a huge miscalculation on their hands with this one, I also think changing the helmet for TLJ was a mistake and is helping to slow down sales
Of this figure as well, I don’t get the change TLJ is taking place literally moments after TFA. |

Yeah, the 3 pack really rocks. And as someone who thinks ROTJ is underrated at times, yeah, I’ll go ahead and say it: it rocks partly because the source material, Jedi, rocks. (Ah-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaaa)

If the Tank Driver is all I'm looking for then I may buy enough of them to fill up the tank and save my little Storm trooper squad to follow on foot.
