i have a couple of them from toybiz, only because i only have a few marvel characters i like enough to buy figures of.
series 4 punisher series 8 war machine and i kinda consider my movie spiderman (first movie, super poseable) a ML since he is scaled correctly. i want a GOOD modern iron man, so i'll be waiting for the movie figures to come out and HOPE they are the same scale as legends (not 5 inch like the spider-man 3 toys. what a lame move by hasbro there.) i think the hasbro legends are okay. again, just nobody i am interested in yet. looking forward to series 4 punisher (just realized both companies waited until "4" to put out frank haha) i really like thier icon 12 inch line. i have punisher (can you tell i am a fan yet?) he is WAY better than previous large figures by toybiz, who just did rotocasting. the hasbro guys are SOLID and HEAVY! very tempted to pick up spidey and maybe iron man in this size. cap too. only limit is space. i think hasbro is doing okay. seems to be a good team up with marvel. toybiz didnt really seem capable of taking the line where marvel wants to go. their products are becoming increasingly popular, and let's be honest, hasbro has way more experience. i'll be getting more legends when i move back stateside to a bigger house with at least 3 bedrooms. this cramped 2 bedroom just isnt cutting the mustard. i have really been interested in filling out my ML collection lately. especially with sigma 6 grinding to a hault.

I have pretty much all the figures except a few variants. Since the marvel legends began we ( the fans) were always treated ( from toybiz) with geat articulated figures and high end sculpting. In addition, a cool reprinted comic book, figure stands, and parts to build a bigger figure...a really bigger figure.
With the inception of Hasbro buying the rights it s has been a big disappointment. A few points of interest: 1.) The figures went up about $3.00 too $4.00 in some areas. 2.) The comic is gone. If ever should come back the price will come up again. 3.) Terrible choices in build-a-figure parts and characters. Specifically the size factor the first tow figures from wave one and two are just regular size legends figures from the old line-up. 4.) Distribution...Worthless! I never seen anything at retail. I scored some on hasbrotoyshop web-site but that place is a worthless on-line store. 5.) Size - the figures have shrunk in size and value. Okay that pretty much covers it on my part. 'nuff said. Enjoy your collectin...

Huh. While I agree that the two build-a-figures are not terribly interesting, I have to say, distribution does not seem to be a problem where I am; every Target, Wal-Mart, TRU and Comic Book Store has them aplenty, except Thor from Wave 2, who was scarce at first but is starting to show up.

Will see...I am about to give up on the legends line anyways...and I feel many other fans are also thinking about it.

Well, just the two of us is far too small a sample size, really, to make even an educated guess about the distribution of Hasbro's Marvel Legends figures. There could be lots of reasons I can find them on the shelf and you can't, and maybe the exact same # got shipped to our local stores. Who knows?
I also live in a thriving metro area (Washington D.C./Northern Va) and I figure in any big metro area it ought to be easier to find stuff anyway. More Marvel Legends notes: My favorite figure: probably either Astonishing Wolverine, or Falcon- I was a big Falcon fan as a kid. Even had the old toy of him. Build-a-figure Mojo is also pretty sweet. My ML "holy grail" that I can never find at an affordable price: Colossus. My favorite X-Man. I hope he gets the MLegends treatment in his Astonishing suit, not just the X3 Colossus in Wave 3. Anybody else have a favorite fig or "holy grail" of Marvel Legends?

Enjoy your collectin... Toybiz BAF's were getting smaller by the last waves. They even said that they were not going to continue with packing in comics if they still had the license, and they even pondered it when they had the license towards the end. Not sure if I read that on Fwoosh or not. Hasbro got a lot of flak on the first 2 waves, without people realizing some of those were sculpted by Toybiz. |

Looks to me like Hasbro Marvel Legends is looking up.
I found the Wal-Mart exclusive 2-packs of Cable/Marvel Girl and Cannonball/Domino. I grabbed the latter, and I think Domino is one of the best looking ML figures to date, and I like that they're starting to make some of the more obscure but cooler figures. I also think these two figures are far better in detail, sculpt, and overall look than earlier Hasbro figures like Banshee and X3 Beast, or the really (to me, anyway) dull-looking Quicksilver or Xorn. Just my thoughts, though.

I was thinking about buying some Marvel Legends figures. Are they worth purchasing, and, if so, do you have any recommendations as to which ones I should get?

Well that depends on a few things. 1) do you want the toybiz legends or 2) the Hasbro legends. Many collectors prefer the legends made by Toybiz and most were good figs. I guess it would be a pick and choose selection. What I was doing was buying figs to make teams. I had the Avengers, X-men and Astonishing X-Men. I had no interest in the legends from Hasbro. It seemed like they lost some luster with the transition. If I was you, I would get the early stuff before the Hasbro stuff but remember that is just my opinion.
