Anyone else around here collect Marvel Legends?
I have lots of the old Toybiz line (Lord of the Rings, too) and intend to fill in a bit here and there. I have to say I am extremely disappointed with what Hasbro has done with the line so far; I got all of Wave 1, practically without even looking at them, and was not thrilled. Wave 2 severely disappointed me; the only figure I genuinely want is Thor, which I have seen only one of on the shelf and wasn't able to grab. Anyway, anybody out there a fellow Marvel fan? Anyone else excited for Wave 3 of the Hasbro ML line because it's going to have Danger and Astonishing Cyclops?

I collect ML but have not bought a lot for a long time. I liked how Hasbro pretty much destroyed the stuck joint syndrome and distrbution issues that Toybiz had.
I think much of the dissapointment with Hasbro has to do with their sculpts being more conservative than Toybiz. Hasbro's gotten praise for the quality and availability. I took closer looks at the Hasbro ML the other day, and the sculpts do lack the crevices of detail that Toybiz had. The comparison is obvious when comparing a Hasbro ML to a Toybiz/Marvel Toys' Legendary Comic Book Heroes figure. With that said, I think Hasbro is picking up steam, the F4 wave selling out at HTS very quickly recently. The articulation is there, the quality and availability are spoken for, its the sculpting that will make the figures a lot better. I'm excited for wave 3 mainly for Captain America. I initially did not want to buy him, but that Kirby'esque face is a winner. Don't know if I will buy Bucky, I do not care for the character but he is Cap's partner in crime. I'll pick up Cyclops, not sure about Danger, but I might buy her since she is from ASM. |

Well, the Hasbro figures are all over the place, that's for sure. Then again, in the last few waves of Toybiz's Marvel Legends, you could find everything (except the variants/chase figures) very easily on the shelf.
I'm not giving up on ML, and I am excited for what some of the future waves look like. I just felt that Wave 2 was really weak; X3 Juggernaut was pretty lame, I don't need ANOTHER Wolverine, especially the Ultimate version, and Xorn was bleah. The only I've picked up so far were X3 Phoenix and She-Hulk, and that was more of a "wow, they're on the shelf" kinda moment. I am looking foward to Wave 3, though, and will definitely grab the vintage Cap.
