dudes, you have no idea how stoked i am.

the exchange on base actually had these in stock!
i heard the street date for them was the 22nd, i just happened to be getting off work at 8:30 that morning. EARLY MORNING SCORE!!!!

got the MkI, MkIII, Prototype (removable armor)
no monger for reasons shogi pointed out.
didnt like MkII much so i passed.

i gotta tell ya...
I WANT A WAR MACHINE SO BAD I CAN TASTE IT!
right now my "unmasked" MkIII is standing next to ML War Machine, and it looks okay. these new figures are a bit on the scrawny side, but i chalk it up to WM being the "tank" of the suits. bulky is fine for that.

yeah. i said "UNMASKED" MkIII.
head swapped my MkIII and proto.

the MkIII neck ball is a bit bigger, so it helps to sahve it down an bit. takes a little force but it will pop on. couple strips of electrical tape on the prototype neck ball to tighten up the MkIII head on there.

and yes it looks bitchin.

i even notched the back of the head so he can look up.

comparison with un-notched head

what am i gonna do with the spare proto?
can you say...
"battle damaged"?
i need to get on it before jin saotome beats me to it... haha he's probably already halfway done!

Are there any Iron Man action figure variants that I can try to look for when I open up a case? Just wondering.

Yes these are nice figures...BUT they seem so dull compared to the original Marvel Legends figures.

actually, he is quite glossy.
and he is one billion times better than the last "modern" iron man by toybiz.
now if i could just figure out how to fix his wrist so they'll bend 90 degrees for repulsor blasts...

snowjob, the only thinhg close to variants are the target exclusive centurion version, and the walmart exclusive war machine.
but i saw several with sub-par paint applications on the shelf. if those are considered variants... maybe "drunk tony was in the paint booth again" variant?
