I still have my Castle Grayskull. I will never forget the Christmas when my parents got it for me. I woke up and my Dad had put it together the night before and it was sitting in front of the Christmas tree. I remember the lights on the Christmas tree were on and it was real early in the morning. I walked out of my bedroom and the lights on the tree were shinning on the top of CS. A great childhood memory of mine.

I totally had those. Actually if my memory serves me correctly, it was my birthday and my best friend went to a Woolworth's (like a $ General) and bought me a couple of these. Penny Racers were pretty fun.
This is why I love the 80's when it comes to toys/action figures. There were so many cool ideas and figures. Now it's all about the Wii and DS. Forget that junk, let our kids use their imaginations with some Penny Racers and Air Raiders. I remember Woolworth!! We had'em in Texas. |

Yes, I LOVE these old commercials!
There are other sites, besides YouTube to find them too! But here's a couple I dig: Check out the marching JOES in this one! There was one Zayre store close to me growing up. That commercial is pretty cool. The marching Joes is awesome. |

Ah, you missed out on one heck of a department store my friend. Hill's were in Ohio, KY, Indiana, West Virginia and a few other states. There is actually a pretty cool website designed by former Hills employees. It has pictures of old store fronts. They even have a picture of the Hills store that I always went to as a kid.
Yeah, I sensed that with how good the ad was. :( LOL!!! |
