They are referring to Zodak Mystical Enforcer who has a different real name than the Zodac figure.
Kind of like when Hasbro calls Snow Job White Out and gives him a different real name...you know...stupid crap like that : - )

People really need to learn to read, lol
I like the line just fine. I'd have some if they weren't so expensive. What I said was that I didn't like Mattel being held in high esteem and the line used as some kind of benchmark because it's not deserving of it for the reasons giving. It's good stuff. It's not perfect. It's not a benchmark to use in comparing other lines and how they are handled. How that equates to "MOTUC sucks" I don't understand but whatever.

as far as faithful updates of classic figures go, i'd say the motu stuff is about as perfect as you can get. based solely on the actual product it is the benchmark as of now.
i loved he man as a kid and had all the toys, but i can't afford these new ones and don't have the gumption to go online and order them. if i saw them at retail all the time, i'd probably break down and get one or two, but oh well. they're still awesome, i just won't be getting any. gi joe is a whole different animal. to me the coolest part of the 25th line was seeing tons of them in the stores. nostalgia was a huge part of it, seeing the familiar packaging and characters. sure, some were poorly executed, but they were cheap enough and customizable enough to make it worthwhile. by the way, rockinhard, great photo. that's how i'd have 'em set up if i was lucky enough to have those figures. |

Opinions are like assholes, ya know? You're not an asshole because you don't care for the line, just like a person who loves it isn't one because they do.
MOTU was a pretty big part of my childhood, so that's why I hold it in high regard. Having said that, though, I don't own nor have I seen in person a single figure from this line. I spent gobs of money on the 2002 line; chasing them down and footing the bill when they went to the static figures. Much like G.I. Joe, the modern line is taking many of its cues from the vintage line. People had the same complaints about the modern Joes as you do about the Classics line for MOTU. I don't know if MOTU reuse parts or not, but I know the 25th line does, just like the vintage Joes did for their entire run. I think these figures look great and are being handled in much the same way most toy lines focused on adult collectors are going to end up going in the future. If I could just join a club and get a new Joe figure every month with out the hassle of searching for them at retail or chasing down this exclusive or that one on this website or the other, then I'd have done it instantly. I'd have preferred the Joes stick to the 5-pack format and release a new one every month via the net over the waves released at retail. I've never really been one of those collectors who value "the chase" as part of the hobby. But, despite thinking they look great, I won't be dishing out any more green on a new line of MOTU figures. It's a lot like having only vintage Joes and 25th Joes. I'm not going to spend the money on every updated line of these toys, like I stupidly did with Star Wars. I had to sell my 25th Joes due to financial hardships. And I'm not gonna front: I miss those suckers often. With that said, if I were to aquire any more of those figures and vehicles, I would have had nowhere to put them or buy another display cabinet when I already have two big ones! One point you didn't make about MOTU is that, if you're solely into MOTU and not POP or New Adventures He-Man, the collection is not going to be NEAR the size of GI Joe. Plus, with this line, there won't be constant improvements that make you buy figures over and over again like with Joe or Star Wars (He-Man is the only one I repurchased because of the ugly red paint apps on the 1st rerelease which they corrected for the second release; while for the 25th, re-purchased many figures for better versions such as Zartan, Serpentor, Snake-Eyes, Lady Jaye, Cobra Commander, and more). After one year and one month, I own 14 MOTUC figures based on the original line. After this year, I'll be adding five for sure (through April) and realistically about 8 or so more, which would take the total to around 25-30 figures for over two years worth of collecting. When I sold my 25th collection, I was up to about 200 figures and 30 vehicles after about two years of collecting. The sheer amount of space those things take up is absurd. Even if I were hypothetically going to "play" with them, there are near too many to handle and then place neatly back on the shelf for display--setting them up for battle and then putting them back on display could take several hours itself. Also, MOTUC figures are done right. 25th figures like Cutter, Serpentor, Grunt, Monkeywrench, Steeler, Short Fuze, Wet-Suit, Recondo, Chuckles, Ripcord, Dusty, and Breaker I had to customize myself (or with the help of Gunslingercbr) to make them freakin' actually look like the original figure. That is ridiculous and shouldn't be the case with a line's selling point to be merely updating the "classic" version. The only thing I've customized on my MOTUC figures is Hordak's crossbow, which I painted white since the Horsemen and Mattel, for some reason, decided to paint black. The artistic merit, reuse of parts are not, on the MOTUC line is out of the ballpark. They truly look like display pieces, all the way around, which is why I love them, not to mention my nostalgia and love for the brand. But I still love Joe and the 25th stuff done right. |

They are not going to have a new bonus item every month. Though they may have two items each month regardless due to either a bonus or re-release.
