While I was browsing at Tru last black Friday, I saw a guy with his 4 year old son and the dad asked "would you like that Millenium Falcon?" and the kid said yeah and the dad happily picked it up.
The Millenium Falcon is really meant as a display model, I dont think its really meant for kids under 8. I almost felt bad for that Falcon going home to certain doom at the hands of a 4 year old. I dont know exactly how much it sold for on black friday but I'm sure it was still way out of my budget. And this falcon is more likely going to look like its been ambushed by a squadron of tie fighters in about 2 days after the kids get done playing with it. And left neglected and broken after the kid gets tired of it. *sigh* I agree with some of the others that are saying it's really an excuse for Dad to get the BMF. I totally did that with my 5 year old daughter last year. Don't get me wrong she really likes Star Wars a lot, but she never would have thought to get it if I had not asked her if it was something she wanted. I got it for her at Walmart on super clearance for $36, and it was a surprise for her as an end of the school year "job well done" present." I just like having it even if it's not part of my collection, and i am glad I could get it for her. It's really hers as I don't tell her what she can or cannot do with it. It's in her toyroom and I don't even touch it. |

I would love to have that BMF and the display room to have it out.

i hope to hell that his mf ends up like mine before my parents gave it away. it was beat to hell why because it was the main vehicle for anything that would fit inside of it. the new one is so huge i doubt that it will see as much action as mine did back then.

That is my problem, I don't have display room. I have so much I would love to put out but I just don't have enough space.

it went for about $80. as for not being suitable for a child, thats hogwash. if you consider the size the factor, then the uss flagg is not meant for kids, either.

My two year old nephew plays with GI Joes, and not in some random baby way. He sets them up on opposing sides, not always going by actual faction, but he tends to get it pretty close. He then has his little battles with them, puts them in vehicles and all that stuff. And when he's done he puts all of them back where they go. He doesn't always remember which accessories go with who, so he asks me to help him put them away. Once again, he's only a little over two years old. I guess the point of my story is just because some kids are morons doesn't mean the kid you saw in the store is. Maybe he can handle the BMF.

The BMF is the best toy ever... We paid full price for it, and it was worth every penny. Of coarse, i already had about 40 SW ships for it to dogfight...
And those pop off legs are great, because it makes for tons of more room inside. They really thought this one out well... |
