Guys if these are not on an endcap, check the end of the aisle, the section next to the wrestling figures. I picked up the red spartan(red is my fav color, and I am waiting for the wave 2 Master Chief with 2 guns), and the big brute guy. These toys are toy crack. As a matter of fact, I think the amount of articulation on these figures is more than advertised on package! Check each part carefully, as there is definitely more articulation than it seems! Carefully hidden. I don't care that these are 5" scale, because its a video game line and contained within its own universe. Sculpting is amazing, but we expected that from the statuesque Mcfarlane. I stopped collecting Mcfarlane when the 4H left and the figures became statues. These Halo figures are excellent. Very, very poseable, and fun to tinker with. Paint apps are great, reminds me of Alex Maleev's inked work in the comic. I wish they costed less, but I imagine the license did not come cheap. Mcfarlane toys also came up with a way of making a t crotch with universal movement, yet not breaking the sculpt. Its hard to describe, but you guys will like this. Non obtrusive, and full mobility, its impressive and needs to be seen to be believed.
Oh and these blow away the Joyride 8" Halo figures from a couple years back. Now I await the Arbiter and the rest of wave 2. |

I am with you!!! I bought the Brute guy today and I am really pleased. Seems that MC & Cortana are harder and harder to come by. I fiddled with my Master Chief and Brute for at least an hour. They really have a lot more articulation points than advertised. I cannot wait for the white one so I can paint it.
Laster today I am getting my camera so I will post a few pics, possibly around 8. So, check back soon.

I bought Master Chief and the only Cortana they had (still in package like my Joyride Cortana). I'm not big into the Halo games (only played the first a little) but like the characters. McFarlane did a great job on them. The only problem I had was Master Chief's right hand was too tight and I broke it before I realized it. It took some time to enlarge the hole and get the glue to hold and it barely works but that is OK with me for the moment. Now that I know there will be a second one I will probably get it.
I realized Cortana was rare after I looked at the back and saw see has 35 Halo points while the Master Chief has only 10. I'm sure it will be very hard to find, just like the Joyride version.

REALLY? I did not look at that! I will have to pick her up. Master chief has 10, Brute has 25.
I am excited but what does it all mean?

Good to hear the positve reviews on these.
Didn't see them at Wal Mart when I looked today. I had a MC preordered at BBTS, but if I can get him at Wal mart all the better. Though I think the series 2 Chief with the shotgun looks cooler. Curious to see what the Halo points will bring. |
