This is not so much a question, but an expression of how baffled I am and a general WTF?
I just went down in the basement to grab something, and checked my rubbermaid style container(a bit bigger than a shoebox) full of vintage Star Wars figures. Remember Jabba'a majordomo, Bib Fortuna? He had that cool, unique fabric jacket. It seemed microscopically flocked somehow, like a faux suede. Well, I discovered him in this box by touching the nastiest feeling moosh in the world, I though a slug had gotten in there. The jacket was dark, soaked, and discolored, wrapped sloppily around the poor plastic alien like a death shroud made of canned spinach. I checked through the box, to see if water had gotten in there, despite the lid being on for the past few years. Nope, nothing wet, and every other vintage figure's cloak was dry and fine. It gets better. As I checked a little more...ewwww. Bib Fortuna's twin brother, also named Bib Fortuna, was drowned in his own sticky wardrobe as well. Now I figure this was some sort of mold or mildew or something, and some moisture managed to get in there. When I tried rinsing it, a lot of the surface shredded right off, revealing a sheer, thin fabric beneath. Pretty sure I could rub it all gf with my thumb. It also discolored some parts of the plastic, it looks permanent, and I imagine a few other figures were victims as well, since these weren't individually bagged. So, does anyone have any idea what the hell ate my toys? I don't collect them anymore, so I'm not heartbroken, it was just a strange, disgusting, oddly figure-specific surprise. |

Clearly some kind of sentient mold that absolutely hates Twi'leks.

Ha!!
It really is. That's too funny. But now I feel kind of...infected. The zombie virus started in my Star Wars bin, you heard it here first! It really was like finding a tiny dead body or something. |

Oh...there wasn't a vintage Oola. Gonna have to check the 90s bin. I think it just hates easily mind-tricked space monsters. I don't even remember having 2 vintage jackets. It's like the second one simply appeared so I'd relive the horror. |

Wow. That's mold-spore creepy.
Something had to have gotten in your cape before you stored it.

Hrm. Given the zombie potential of this, just where in DE do you live, SE22? I want to know how much of a start I'll need from New Castle...

I have never heard of this happening before to Bib Fortuna's cape, but it did happen to the foam that was inside of my Chewbacca bandolier carrying case. Everything looked fine until I touched it and then it started to turn into that "ooze" and dissolve. It was nasty so I know what snakeeyes22 went through.
I have to go check my Bib Fortuna now. I think I put all of my vintage Star Wars figures inside of that Millenium Falcon carrying case from the POTF2 line.

The mutation spores didn't all burn up in space. Falcon tried before the bet exploded. The last of the spores found their way into your collection.
