Lately I have been picking up some of McFarlane's Halo figures. I've had two break while I was taking them out of the package. When I returned the first figure the sale's rep made it sound like this happened all the time with McFarlane. Has anyone else ran into this? If this is common I don't want to waste my money on their product! Your feed back would be appreciated.

It is fairly common. I haven't seen a lot of complaints on the most recent Halo figures but the first series was pretty rife with breakages.

its mcfarlanes type of plastic and the weakness of the joints. I love how his stuff looks but the stuff is so bloody fragile I dont dare buy them anymore.

Thanks, that's good info. I think that they may be still having problems. The figures I had bought were from the last couple of waves. Wave 3 & 4 maybee.

Yeah, they're made to be displayed MOC, not posed. Kinda sucks. The general rule is, the better the articulation, the better the chance of it breaking straight out of the package. Happens a lot with them.

Thanks! The joints seem to be made of hard brittle plastic. They have no give at all. The elbow snapped off the first figure while I was taking it out of the package. The funny thing is that I was pretty gentle. |

Yes.
Maybe he could sell some of those sports memorabilia and invest it in better product. I liked the halo figures till I got mine. Now not so much. Just tired of McFarlane. Granted his toys look good but thats about it. |

I had this same issue with some of the Spawn figures. I actually contacted them and still have an email from customer service. It's been about nine years so the contact info mave have changed but good luck.
portion of email as follows "First, Customer Service will replace any defective figures. Just call (800) 345-7477, or e-mail Mary at, [email protected]. Second, detail means softer plastic, there's NO getting around it. A harder plastic is better for durability, but cannot be pulled from such detailed molds. You'll notice we do a lot of undercuts in our figures. If the plastic is soft, the undercut areas will flex and be removable from the molds. If the plastic is too hard, they will NOT flex and be trapped in the molds. It come down to a tradeoff! We are constantly adjusting the make-up of the plastic to make them as durable as possible. But, on occasion, very early in the run, things aren't quite right and we get some breakage. That's why Customer Service is there, they're ready to assist in anyway at all." |

That's how I feel too. I would never give one of these to a kid. It wouldn't last two minutes.

Back in the day when I worked for KB we'd get cases of Mcfarlane stuff where arms or heads had falled off in the package all the time.
