i plan on picking some of these up, more for my star wars universe than my joeverse. i did get one of the blue alien guys from TRU the other day, it was 9.99, but i had a $10 coupon for TRU so it came to $7 and change. wasn't impressed with the figure at all...good for background filler thats about all.
movie looks good thou!

I'm sure you bought other things. Just thought it was funny that you got a $9.99 figure using a $10 coupon and it was still $7. Everytime I go to TRU now I'm tempted to get the bike and mech. Waiting on the human figures though.

Whew- Thanks for posting that! I almost bought the thing at Toys R Us, yesterday. Glad I didn't.
It DOES look bad ass though.
You could always just take the lower legs off a figure and leave him in the cockpit. If he's just going to be a pilot and sit in the thing, it doesn't really matter, eh?

Neat looking toys, but it just seems like they let an overzealous fanboy design the weapon systems.

I just don't really see the movie striking a chord with audiences. Me and my co-workers talked about it after the intial trailer hit and although it looks cool i just don't see it being the huge blockbuster i'm sure they'll need it to be to recoup the huge costs of making the film.

I wonder....If I took the cockpit section of the dragonhawk and removed all the parts off the scorpion and transfered them to the dragonhawk......hmmmm......

What's up with all the mandatory PC toy compatibility nowadays?
It seems kind of cool sometimes, but also like a way to charge more. The Avatar toys, with the webcam cards that give you access to new game characters, make it seems as though you're really getting something much more than access to existing digital material.
My daughter sometimes enjoys the web games that certain dolls have given you access to, which usually come in the form of a code you input. A lot of sites don't require anything, you just go on, play, explore or whatever and your invested interest in the brand makes for good advertising.
Selling the stuff seems kind of weak when it's a small toy and a bunch of game content. It reeks as bad as that stack of CommTech Episode I chips I have that made the toys cost more.
The toys do look okay to me, I like the DCUC quality and construction of the larger ones. The film will probably be cool, James Cameron gets so passionate and invested in projects that he puts a lot into them. Sadly, all the hype has made the reveal of the designs recieve some backlash. Groundbreaking or not, military mechs and aliens can't be too bad, so I'm game.
