One of my childhood dreams came true when these figures were released a few months back. I was so excited when I received the first two waves from BBTS. I didn't mind the lack of accessories, the lack of stands, the exorbitantly high price...these were what I've been waiting for for over 20 years! Now, however, upon receiving my wave 5 figures and the comic packs, I wonder where it all went wrong?
These new packs have to be some of the worst toys ever! The comic packs are a joke. Why is Klaw included when he's not even a part of the Secret Wars? Wolverine is barrel bellied(?) with the longest neck this side of E.T. None of them can stand properly because the cheap plastic used for the toys is so badly warped from the packaging. Cap's shield is missing the straps. The comics are totally thrashed because of the packaging. Submariner's arm fell off and won't stay on. Guardian has stubby little forearms. The "Top Secret" files seem as if they were written by a half-illiterate 12 year old. Has Hasbro ever heard of spell-check? Here are some examples: "The Submariner has performed greet deeds..." "We're have difficultly acquiring the data" "...I know what your up to..." "Electro just is not a good fit here. He has totally committed himself to a life of crime, and that's all he'll ever be. A common criminal. Let alone the fact that Spider-man has made of fool of him time and time again." Submariner's weight is listed at 320 pounds! And this is wave 5! You'd think by now they'd notice that almost every file has mis-spellings or typos. These figures are becoming a big letdown. If the quality does not improve by the next wave, I think I'm done with this line. This makes me kind of sad because as I stated earlier, these were a dream of mine as a child. I guess sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality. If you made it through this, I thank you for indulging me. If you feel the same as me, post your rant here so we can get all of our collective frustrations out. |

I got the Human Torch/Wolverine set for a friend and I have to admit I've been laughing at how ridiculously long the neck is. Very Elongated Man/Mekaneck.

I agree!
I've ranted and whined like a baby about the price, Marvel Legends, with HUGE stands or BAF pieces AND a comic in a clamshell package cost less than this a few years ago. Actually, the current Walmart Legends are just $2 more, and are about 5 times more product! I was disappointed by Hasbro Legends at first, the drop in quality from Toy Biz was drastic. The later waves got a lot better(the current WM Daredevils are amazing!) But now we're back to square one, despite the fact that they have several other lines of the same size that have improved after shaky baby steps. I just don't see why there isn't any internal communication with this company between lines. Joes have a million repaints, but for Marvel, there's goofy giraffe Wolverine, while in the Wolverine line, they've got the character properly proportioned in the same outfit. And the comic packs have the worst paint jobs, and include a Spidey that's been out for months! I do really like classic iron man, union jack, red hulk, moon knight, and black spider-man(who is taller than regular spider-man?) and some of the stuff shown at SDCC is promising. Sorry to answer a rant with a rant, but I understand you completely. My final thought? Iron FIST has 2 open hands. What. the. hell. |

I love the comic packs. They're brilliant and they seem to be selling quite well.
Phobos...Klaw wasn't part of Secret Wars? Have you ever actually read Secret Wars? |

Well, not past the three books I got, but if i'm mistaken on that point I apologize for my ignorance. I guess that's one less thing that bugs me with MU.

Oh yeah, did I mention Red Skull? I know he's from Indiana Jones, but he's SO out of place. He's disproportionate to the other figures and his articulation is terrible. Just seems lazy...another disappointment.

ever had a chick break up with you for another dude, then he treats her all bad and smacks her around and gets her hooked on heroin, then they both get shot and die during a bungled bank robbery?
That's how I see the MU. what was once my beautiful and sweet marvel legends ran off and became the MU. So with tearful regret i'm kind of glad that MU isn't doing too well. but i still often think of what once was...

Don't get me wrong...I loved the first several waves, but by now, I'm just noticing more and more things that bother me. How many times are they going to use the Silver Surfer body? (Okay, I'll stop). Some of the SDCC figs did look good and I really do hope this line improves.
