After seeing the RoC movie this weekend, I decided to go out to my parent's farm and into their barn, where my GIJOE A Real American Hero toys had been stored. They have been there since we moved from Miami FL to Cambridge WI in 1989. I have not seen my vehicles since this moment. I was shocked to discover that mice had eaten their way through the plastic storage-bins and had even gnawed some of the vehicles and various parts. This has really depressed the hell out of me! I always kept my figures with me when I moved around from Cambridge, to Madison and back to Cambridge. So with this said- Does anyone know if there is a collector or business out there that reproduces and sells individual replacement parts for our beloved ARAH toys??? If so, please steer me in the right direction.
Also- I was thinking of going to Cobra Stickers and replacing mine on some of the vehicles that are in dire need of a face-lift. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove the old ones and clean the surface residue off without damaging the plastic??? I notice that they are sold out of the Sky Striker stickers- do they ever get a new supply in? Please get in touch with me by either a PM or leave a post to this message. Thanks, Yo-Joe!! |

For parts, there are many online stores run by members of GI Joe boards that sell parts, you can also find members here that will trade vehicle parts (I have a box full of vehicle parts and shells myself)
As for cleaning, try goo gone. I've never had it mess up plastic and with a little elbow grease, you can get the dried up sticker residue off of the vehicles. |

Sorry to hear that your collection got messed up. The first thing you will need to do is peel off the old stickers from whatever vehicles you want to restore. Although not every vehicles has reproduction sticker sheets available. The best person to buy sticker sheets from is J Ruben. He also has the best selection hands down. The best way to clean the sticker gunk is with lighter fluid and a paper towel. Then wash the vehicles off with dish soap and warm water. The other way to get the gunk off is buy using cooking oil. Although the lighter fluid is the quicker way.

I'll try the lighter fluid method too. Thanks! |
