Does anyone here have a subscription to the Eaglemoss Star Trek starships?
I've been thinking about it, it's like $45 monthly with 3,6 and 12 month subs being a little less. https://en-us.eaglemoss.com/hero-col...ips-collection Yeah, I'm a Trekkie nerd. I hear good things and bad things... about the same with almost anything you read reviews for. So I figured I'd ask anyone here on the Tank if they sub to this. :

No sub, but I’ve been picking up ships that have meaning for me or are just cool as heck.
I have about 15 ships and want more, but have trouble finding a place to display them. The magazine they pack in is pretty cool, gives a history both in universe of the ship as well as a behind the scenes look on the actual film model, episodes or movies it’s featured in. The Excelsior design for example was largely overseen by Nimoy. |

I did subscribe for over two years. It adds up quick. There was a few QC issues with nacelles falling off in shipping that made me mad but overall they are neat collectibles. You need space to display them properly. I would save the original boxs if you could also to keep that resell value. They through in gifts and prizes that may not be expected. Excellence ncustomer service so I would subscribe again.hope this knowledge helps.

Helps, thanks. I went ahead and subbed monthly. A few buck more a month isn't a deal breaker for me, and it saves having to front $500 for a year today.
Display space is a good point, my wife even asked where I'm going to put them... I'll figure that out. I'm getting more wall space built in my basement to allow me to move all of my Joe collection to the basement, freeing up a few places in the living room. Maybe a Detolf or two from Ikea are in order.

I'll tell you a story about how much of a nerd Trekkie I am...
I gave a book report in High School on Star Trek. It was about the inaccuracy of a comic that came out that still showed the Iotians from the Episode "A Piece of the Action" still being 1920-30s mobsters, when the episode itself said they'd reverse engineer McCoy's communicator and copy that lifestyle as they had done with the 1920-30s mobsters. They all looked at me like I was from the planet Vulcan. Top it off was when I said the word "torpedo" and I accidentally spit out my Tic Tac into the hair of the girl sitting in front of me. That day sealed my virginity for the rest of my time there.

I know the feeling. I did a report about tech influenced by trek. I had a fun time explaining a trek torpedo and how it detonates vs a standard torpedo.
I love Eaglemoss. I do wish the various ships were in scale with each other. I want the Enterprise A to be appropriately sized to the B-D. you can get close now that they are doing the XL versions, but they aren’t all sized correctly. I had almost all the micro machine star ships and at the time they were amazing. These are so good. The only one o have had issues with is the Reliant. Nacelle was broken out of the box, but it was an easy fix. My favorite is the Vengence. Great looking ship. I still need to grab the Enterprise D, D upfit with third nacelle, the Grissom and a few others. Last edited by nightrattler; 02-21-2020 at 05:25 PM.. |

The only sucky thing is the Discovery line of ships is a different subscription.
