I wanted to pose a question to the experts here. With Fortnite being a big hit recently, what are other video games that came out with 3 3/4-4 inch figures. I can think of Crysis 2, Fallout, and Gears of War off the top of my head. One figure sticks out that I can't recall which game he came from. He had tattoos on his arms and was bald. Almost looked like something out of Cantina Scum's No Man's Land series. Anyone remember something that looks like that very vague description? Any help is appreciated!

https://goo.gl/images/KpT9u2 Jazwares previously had a Mortal Kombat (9) and Street Fighter 4 series about 6 years ago. They weren't great. They released a limited series of Assassin's Creed figures earlier this year, which were a vast improvement. Supposedly they'll release more Assassin's Creed figures in the future, probably after the Fortnite rush dies down. Unimax--who made Crysis 2 and Red Faction--also had their own series of Assassin's Creed figures, based off one of the Italian Renaissance games. Brotherhood, I think. Mezco did a trio of Mortal Kombat X figures. They were fantastic. I saw some Lost Planet 3 figures on BBTS. They were a little on the expensive side, but nice. They are actually on sale right now--most of them for about 50% off--so now might be the time to look into them.

There are the Hasbro Gamerverse figures which besides Marvel characters include Megaman and Ryu so far. There are also a few World of Nintendo figures that are 1:18, Samus and a Metroid, Link and Zelda. And then DC Multiverse had figures based on the Arkham games.

Red Faction - Toy Discussion at Toyark.com http://www.hisstank.com/forum/toys/1...-unimax-2.html ------------------------- ----------------- Man, I remember gamestars. That toyline had such terrifyingly bad Qc issues that Unimax toys went bankrupt a few years later and sold off their 1:18 assets. Forces of Valor and all their assets then got bought by an RC company of all things called Waltersons industries. Edited: Whoops, fixed wrong info. Whoops, I mean the owner of Unimax in 2015 retired, and the company itself was purchased by Waltersons Industries Hk.
I guess I was right and remembered it wrong. Let me edit that. |

Forces of Valor and all their assets then got bought by an RC company of all things called Waltersons industries. You can see what happened by the newer releases of tons of Force of Valor Rc vehicles . . . . . and nothing else of note. Oh, and in regards to the World of Nintendo figures, they're a little larger than 1:18 scale. Samus, for example, is a little over 4.5'' tall, when "in real life" her suit would be a little less than 6' tall (which would be just under 4'' in 1:18 scale). So they'll fit in passably with some figures, but are noticeably too large for others.

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of QC issues did you run into? I have 9 of the figures total (including all 6 of the Crysis 2 figures), and none of them have any particular problems, at least from a "defect" standpoint. The designs sometimes have issues with range-of-motion or hands that are difficult to get weapons into, but that's all I've encountered.
No, I'm talking about the Red Faction Armegeddon figures. Those had HIDEOUSLY high defect rates at the joints. The joints were also easily broken, tended to go rubbery, were usually the 1st part damaged over time and didn't have THAT great a range of motion. It got so bad that the general public stopped buying them, most got clearanced out by Target, hence bankrupting Unimax. I bought multiple Darius figures, the damn arms kept breaking off when I was opening them out of packaging, so I can confirm this is a major issue with these figures. |
