I got my first shipment and want to share some photos and thoughts.
The outer packaging boxes are very nice. The structure which keeps your new figures from getting destroyed: When opened: Contents: The range of motion on the arms and head/neck is pretty great. I do have a few issues, which I would love to see addressed in the future.
Compatibility matters:

It seems like they were designing for a harder plastic, but converted to that tacky soft plastic later on in development. Those big fat torso bodies might be compensating for this fact. I'm also very concerned by that schizo tech packaging. And the lack of padding. And those weird spear tubes aimed at the fig. . . . yeah, I'll go into that. -------------------------------------- 1. So you got tons of articulation right? Well, if you got softer plastic, why would your ankle joint be that thin? Why so many joints like the neck tilt joint in the body? Having so many joints and then going with softer plastic on a figure so expensive is a bit silly. 2. The ankle joint is designed in such an odd fashion. Why attach that joint at a right angle to the legs when using a softer plastic? Most figures that use that cheaper dumbbell config use harder twist resistant plastics. Also, wouldn't a cone joint work better if it's soft plastic, why use a straight column shape. 3. I also suspect paint rub will be a VERY big issue already. I can see chipping already right off that bat in the neck and head regions. See point #5 as to why this is an even bigger issue than usual. 4. They expect you to glue those extra pieces on right? But then they used again, a softer plastic. That sounds like there's a big risk of accidentally tearing the glued one the pieces off that soft surface plastic again. Once torn, soft plastic surface tears are annoying to glue back together. That's odd. . . . . . Also, the ball depressions seem kinda shallow and not wide enough for keeping glued things in place. Hmmmm 5. Packaging having an additional use as diorama pieces actually does not inspire confidence in the company. There's no padding I can see, that means in shipping, their product is banging left and right, causing more paint chipping issues, damage to smaller pieces and the figure, and jagged plastic pieces stabbing the product. There's a reason Hasbro, Mattel, Bossfight, Acid Rain, Jazwares, Neca and pretty much everyone else pads their figures, usually in plastic trays to absorb shock and toss damage. These Joy Toy figs are blantant in not giving a shet about this type of shipping damage from what I can see. ALso, to add insult, the diorama piece has circular spears for pegs aimed at the figure, that. . . . does not inspire my confidence in the companies customer service or care. 6. AND.... CONTINUING, the diorama packaging is held together by the paper packaging right? Umm, but China is a very Wet and Rainy place, if the packaging gets water damaged enough, the whole diorama box thingies can collapse like a lego building without the paper package pressing down and keeping the pegs in place on the box. 7. Now that I've analyzed the company, I don't like the lack of care I see. I'm concerned that the figures will smell, indicating a plastic that will deteriorate easily. Will their customer service be bad? Are they choosing a REALLY poor durability plastic? What is the quality of the plasticizer they're using? Will pieces start breaking off the figure like my BBI figures? I don't know, but this is kinda odd to me. What else will I find wrong when I actually get these figs? |

1. The joints are hard plastic, and the head is. The rest of the figures, are the soft plastic. All of the packs are soft plastic, with the clips you glue on the back side of the packs, being hard plastic. These clips allow the packs to slide on and off of the belt.
2. The joint they use is pretty much like the BFS female figure ankle joints on the bottom half of that joint. The top of internal part of the joint extends up to mid shin. See the following. 3. The only issue I am going to see paint rub, is the neck and the head. 4. Some of the glueing is soft on hard plastic and some is soft on soft. 5. The figures and accessories will rattle around inside their coffins some. I couldn't say what paint chipping you are going to have. I didn't have any. 6. There is padding on the outside of the package that I got, about 3/8 an inch of bubble wrap, using the pouch bubble wrap and taped up well. I wouldn't worry about moisture. I just stood on two of the boxes. So 100 pounds on each one and they held up just fine. Maybe if hit from an angle they will have issues, But with the bags the parts come in, they are going to all stay together, and I expect survive unless really crushed. 7. The figures have the same smell Acid Rain, MTF, and Boss Fight figures all have when I open them up, or seal them away for six months. Regarding customer service, I bought through Aliexpress, which I believe is the direct way to deal with them. I asked them for 10 extra of the broken part, and now we are having language issues, as they think I am trying to buy 10 figures with the broken part, through their messaging system. I honestly believe they are willing to help. On the topic of soft plastic and tackiness, there was some of this, but for my 3 figures, less so than the single Acid Rain figure I have purchased. I do plan to buy 2 more of each figure, for 3 of each in total. I'm just waiting for their next 30% off sale. Last edited by hushed; 01-25-2019 at 08:13 AM.. |

They are cranking them out, using essentially the same parts cast in different colors, with different paint schemes, etc. Here is the 4th release I am finding images of:

When I picked up one of the 1/24 scale figures, he came with lots of assembly required. Essentially, I needed superglue and lots and lots of time to make him look like the figure on the box. Is this the case with the 1/18 line?

I count 19 panels or pouches which will need to be glued onto the C-clips, or directly onto the body armor. |

Yeah, the packaging is a concern to me not because it's not good, but it's basically a chain of ifs. If the paper holds, it's durable. If the bubble wrap outside is done well, the figure inside the box won't move and get scratched. If the figures are lucky, those cylinder spheres and moving parts and bags won't scratch one another. Other than that and customer service, I'm gonna have to buy some to get a closer look. |

Thanks! It's exactly the same as the smaller scale figure.
