Thoughts on this set?
https://www.lockertoys.com/key/index...product_id=584 I like some of the head sculpts. I think I need to see some more reviews on this line before I can pull the trigger. |

Got my USMC set yesterday. Fairly solid figures other than the diaper crotch and the M4's seeming a bit over-sized. Nothing to glue. Don't feel rubbery to me. The figures with backpacks have the plate carrier and backpack as one piece. I'd prefer the backpack as a separate piece. Still seem a bit short compared to MTF.

I will never understand how figures that are within a single scalar inch of each other if they were real people are seriously described as 'short'. I want to see these military formations of 100% identically-tall people you people seem to be referencing for your assumptions.

Not necessarily addressing Ozy, but expanding my thoughts further: If you have 50 of the MTF figures in formation, and 50 Joy Toy figures lined up in formation, all right next to each other, you will see one squad is shorter than the other. The fact their gear would be very distinct from each other would then break immersion, if you were trying to look at these as representations of people, as opposed to simply action figures. It wouldn't make sense in reality the people with T shirts or zip up jump suits are always 4 inches taller than the rest. If the figures were all a variety of heights like Joes, that would be great. Swapping gear between the lines does help to break this up, without having to heavily customize toros and legs. I personally accept the differences in heights. I don't mind mixing the figures even if it's obvious one set of figures is short than the other. Throw in some Joes and don't line all of your figures up in formation by brand, and the figures really start have the variety of heights you would expect among real humans. |
