I did not know about the Marauder RPG KS until it was late, however the Quick Start Rules are enough to extrapolate a framework for a good fun game (especially if one has DMing experience under one's belt). The game plus figs, plus playsets + heroscape terrain (interlocking/stackable color coded hexes that are pure awesome and other bits)= awesome fun. This weekend I'll set up some stuff and see how it goes and post some pictures.
I look forward to playing this with the kids! I have tons of stuff holed away for this kind of setup. Last edited by Bubbavader; 01-05-2018 at 03:07 AM.. |

Made a arrangement with some ‘Scape and other goodies. Lots of potential and this is not even busting out the castle box and another big box of hexes.

Sounds cool! Looking forward to pics and let us know how it goes. I’ve never played D&D so I’m not sure how to be a DM but I’ve been trying to create my own version of a Marauders game.

That’s cool. I’ve never seen a heroscapes set up before. Had to google others after seeing this. How expensive is it for a set up like you have there?

There are additional toy pieces in bubbavaders pics. My son an I played Heroscape a lot when he was younger. Bought 4 big sets and all additional booster sets in multiples. As well as multiple sets of the armies. It was an awesome time. I’d have to say all together we had close to $300-$400 tied up into it. We even made custom heroscape characters useing hero clixs figures. It has since been discontinued so I have no idea how much it would cost to get sets now. But they would make an awesome rpg set up for joes and mtf.

Hey Marine! What’s up bud? I think I’d only be interested in buying the base pieces but they look expensive and if they’re discontinued then I’m sure it’s not cheap. I bought some custom styrofoam building pieces a few years ago on eBay that fit joes and I’m trying to find something to lay underneath it. I wish I could remember the guy who made them cause I really want to buy more of them.

I have been picking up lots on ebay over the years. A good base would be 2-3 Rise of the Valkyrie sets, plus the Castle set. That would probably be $100-150 on ebay depending on your luck. A cheaper option would be to use the carboard hex flats from Magic Arena of the Planeswalkers Boardgame(which is at Ross and 5Below now)as the base and then use plastic hexes as elevation. They are basically the same game. One has the option of spray painting the pieces as well for any colors one might not have enough.
I have a tremendous amount, this is roughly half. I'd cut a good deal on a starter set but shipping would not be worth it unless you are out of the USA. It is very useful terrain, I have not actually played Heroscape proper yet, lol. |
