I got inspired by the Revolution set, I'm looking to expand my 80s characters. I ordered some Hiyatoys Aliens and Predators, and some Jazwares Street Fighters. Going to grab a couple Marvel characters and Darth Vader. Are there any Thundercats besides the reboot stuff? I guess that Mumm-Ra might be passable. Is there a TMNT Shredder in 3.75? I see there's a He-Man and Skeletor available from Vortious customs. What else is out there that you recommend? This is my first post on the forum!

Great pic brotha. Not Sure about Shreder but aren't the original turtles about ME figure size?

Jurassic park toys, a lot of the kenner lines, Mighty Joe Young.
Buck rogers 3.75 by Mego, Dragonriders of the Styx, Dragonheart, Visionaries, Skeleton warriors, Dino Riders, Mattel Land Shark, Inhumanoids (just kidding) I could keep going on, but I basically watch guys who open old toys. I like muting the videos and reading the names on the old boxes. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLW...able_polymer=1 |

Here is another resource I use:
https://www.figurerealm.com/ It pretty much lists any action figure ever made. The navigation and search functions are not great on the site but its a nice place to start. The 1998 Godzilla/1999 Battlefield earth toys - especially the vehicles fit in pretty well with the ARAH Joes. Their is a tank, F/A-18 and Apache that are all nice vehicles. |

Dino Riders weren't 3 3/4"
Dragonheart was a big shorter. Skeleton Warriors and visionaries were bigger. |

There are lots of vintage and modern update versions of toys like MOTU classics and Ninja Turtles, but very few that would actually mesh with ME Joes. Indiana Jones figures are quite good but just a little bit short. There’s the Sectaurs Kickstarter that has already been mentioned. You can also find Chinese oversized Transformers that are big enough to scale well with G.I. Joes.
The best bet might be to spend some time surfing places like Avacs Lab, Vortious Customs, and Angel Forge. They have headsculpts, kits, and sometimes even entire figures that can be used to customize characters in the ME style. For example, Vortious has some custom parts that bear a strong resemblance to He-Man and Skeletor. Angel Forge has some parts that make good custom Turtles. Problem is you’ll need a dremel tool and some modeling supplies if you intend to ‘roll your own.’ |
