I thought it would be fun to start a thread for Joe compatible store finds that are showing up on store shelves for the upcoming Christmas season. Some of these have probably been seen in years past, but there were a few I haven't seen in person before, and some that are new.
Here's a few things I saw on the shelves of a Rural King store a couple of days ago... Bruder Linde forklift: I haven't seen this next one before in previous years, but it has interchangeable forks, so it could be used as heavier duty forklift for Joe or Cobra. Bruder Schaffer front end loader: The next two shares the same Peterbilt truck just in different colors and is more in scale to Joes than the Bruder Mack trucks(which they also had, but I didn't take a pic of) Ertl Big Farm Peterbilt 367 with grain trailer: Ertl Big Farm Peterbilt 367 with lowboy trailer I thought this would be a neat ride for Barbecue with maybe Lifeline riding shotgun. Bruder Fire Dept. Jeep Rubicon: I thought the light rig was pretty cool in this set. Bruder Firefighter accessories: The next three pics are of side by side atv type vehicles. This Bruder JD seemed to be a lot larger(and cost way more) than it probably should be, but I thought I'd include it. Bruder John Deere XUV: I might pick one of these sets up for a custom if they go on sale. I believe the doors on these open, has a winch, and a working bed. The gigantic noggins on the figures are hilarious! Motor Mountain Adventure Series: I picked up a blue version of the following. Couldn't pass it up for the detail and price. More pics of it unboxed with Joes in it here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/toys/4...ml#post5082306 New Ray Polaris RZR: That all for now. Feel free to add to it as you spot things in your local stores this holiday season.

those big rigs with the trailers really take me back. If I saw those when I was a kid, I would have been begging for one with a dump bed. My cousin and our friend that lived up the road a bit, spent most of the time from 1982 to 1987 digging and hauling dirt. If a truck couldn't haul dirt we didn't want it lol. Lots of good memories.
I'll have to keep an eye out for those rigs, I might try to get one and give it to my cousin for Christmas. He drives a tractor and trailer here locally and his son is obsessed with anything to do with his Father's job. |

How much was that Rubicon going for? I've been waiting for one to show up on eBay at a reasonable price but a trip to Rural King could work out nicely...
As for my contribution to the thread, this year Target is stocking a brand called "Driven" by a company called "battat." The vehicles are Joe-scaled and feature-rich, toy-wise. The trucks all have a flip-forward cab, wheels that spin (surprising this counts as a "feature" these days, but it probably bears mentioning), working headlights, opening doors, and a set of sounds they make (steering wheel has a button on it that makes it honk and there are one or two buttons on the roof for engine sounds ans sirens and such). Current offerings include... Fire truck with working hose (it can squirt water, fellas...how cool is that?), working support feet, and working ladder/bucket (raise/lower/rotate/extend) ($34.99): Garbage truck with garbage cans/dumper, and some other features I haven't had a chance to explore in-store yet ($32.99): Crane truck with working crane and working support feet ($32.99): Dump truck with working dump bed ($29.99): And outside of the truck offerings there is also this bulldozer ($17.99) and backhoe ($15.99) that also have sounds: These are all large enough to fit Joes in (they are pretty much Bruder size), they seem well-made, and they are very reasonably priced. The price varies from truck to truck, apparently based on features (i.e. the dump truck that is mostly an empty bed that tips is cheapest at $29.99 while the fire truck with the most features is $34.99 and the rest are all $32.99 with feature counts somewhere in between). I bought the fire truck already and I am giving serious thought to buying at least the crane truck as well. If I hadn't already bought a Bruder bulldozer and backhoe those two would have come home with me already as well. I'll try to get some pics with a Joe in the truck later on today so you guys can see how it stacks up.

I want to say that particular set was around $39. They had other sets and ones with just the Jeep but in different colors. I think the single ones were around $25 to $30. As you may know, most toys there usually go down in price the closer it gets to Christmas(usually 40% off a day or two before), but they also like to exclude Bruder & Ertl in those sales sometimes. They have so many toys packed in that store during their Christmas season, it's hard to see everything they have. I literally found a whole pallet full of the Ertl Big Farm Pete semis just randomly setting on the other side of the store. I'm getting that lowboy version if they go on sale. Those Battat trucks look & sound very, very similar to Bruder. Awesome finds! I think my son has a Bruder truck with the crane that looks just about like the one in your pics. Looking forward to seeing more!

Later than intended, but as promised...
Joe drivers, standard and large-sized figures: A Joe in the "bucket" at the end of the ladder (note that the water nozzle clips onto the front of the basket but I haven't actually attached it yet): Joes outside the vehicle for scale (a bit large, as you can see, but it has a ladder to get into the cab so it's not as oversize as you might think on first glance...it's supposed to be a huge truck): Cab interior: Rubberized wheels: Working support feet: Working lights: Water fill-up hatch and manual pump arm: It's worth mentioning that the sounds are all able to overlap each other and do not cancel or pause any already-playing effects. So if, for example, you hit the siren button and then honk the horn while the siren is playing, the horn honk just plays right along with the siren and when you stop honking the horn the siren still goes on as normal (assuming it still has time left in its cycle). I rather appreciate that feature.

Looking forward to seeing more! For what it's worth, they also had some lower-end pickup trucks with horse trailers and a horse veterinarian van in roughly Joe scale. They aren't as well made and were a bit overpriced for that reason, so I left them on the shelf. I snapped a few crappy camera phone pictures but they turned out so badly I am not going to post them, but if they went to 40% off they could be worth picking up. Here they are: Horse vet van (just a LITTLE small for Joes, but it could work): $34.98 Motor Mountain (by Paradise Kids) toy truck with horse trailer and horse (for girls): ...can't find a stock image yet for this one yet... $?? (no price tag on the shelf) Imagination Adventure "Outdoor Adventure" (by Treehouse Kids) toy truck with horse trailer and colt (for boys): And they also had the RZR in a set with a truck and trailer (3 different color variations): Last but not least, I have recently started seeing Joe-sized STEEL-bodied pickup trucks from the Maisto "Adventure Force" line (a Walmart brand line). This particular truck has lights and sounds and seems pretty well-built. Think back to the old Tonka pickups, only with lights and sounds. The ones I see are always a fairly dark blue truck so I don't know if there are any color variants or not. I can't find any stock pics of this one online either and I haven't taken any photos in person so far so I can't share anything else of substance yet. Suffice it to say, I already have two pickup trucks for the kids, and I regret not having this option to buy for them earlier. It's too late for me to bother with this one now, but I would be all over it if my kids didn't already have a couple of (inferior) Joe-scaled pickup trucks.

The imagination adventure is the same as Walmart’s outdoor adventure stuff, they have pick ups, hummer H2 and H3, but my favorite is an actual joe scale 4 door jeep rubicon in hyper green. The bruder jeep is cool but to big for joes, check out the outdoor adventure one, I bought two, one to customize to look like my jeep and another to make into a joe vehicle.

The 4-door Jeep is not bad (I have that one sitting somewhere in my house), but the rest from that line is kinda "meh." They all (Jeep included) have opaque windshields and kind of crappy wheels. The Jeep makes up for it a bit with 4 working doors and extra seating that none of their other vehicles offer. They all fit Joes well enough, and they aren't made of the worst plastics ever, but corners have been cut in features and materials and they are just sort of cheap. By which I guess I mean "disappointing." They could be better with a tweak or two even if it upped the price by $5. These are the exact trucks I was referring to as "inferior" when I mentioned the Maisto steel trucks I have seen cropping up. They aren't garbage, but they aren't great either. One definite point in their favor is their diverse offerings, particularly over a span of years. They have had at least two Jeeps, several pickup trucks, Hummers, and a Baja buggy just that I've seen over the past 3 years.
