Anyone have any thoughts on the playsets released under the World Peacekeepers Battlefield brand? They're dioramas made for ARAH sized figures, and you can see a few examples on Amazon. I always wanted dioramas for my figures, and didn't understand as a kid why Hasbro didn't seem to sell them.
I know there are also fan-made ones on eBay, but they're a bit pricey for my tastes. Are there any other brands making dioramas and playsets that could work with ARAH figures? Is anyone out there using dioramas made from a different company? Last edited by continuityerror; 12-02-2016 at 12:52 AM.. |

THEY are awesome and pretty cheap..for all the stuff that come with them and you are in luck because big lots and rite aid stores start stocking them now for the holiday season..then after that dude they are gone.I used the desert one in my dio-story The Initiative ( cheap plug )

You can't go wrong with World Peacekeepers stuff. The figures are a bit simplistic, but versatile, and the vehicles, accessories, and playsets are excellent stuff for a bargain-priced line. Just hit up any Big Lots and you should find a good selection. (I've never seen them at Rite Aid, but I don't go there very often, either.)
As far as other brands go? Not much. The Corps! has a couple Battlezone Command sets that can still be found on Amazon and on TRU's website, but part of the value comes from the guns and accessories which don't scale well with ME Joes, so your mileage may vary. They also have a few small but nice guard towers in circulation with some other sets, but you'll have a hard time finding any at retail, apart from packaged in with one of the large vehicles--Amazon's your best bet for finding those.

The Animal Planet line at TRU has playsets. A underwater lab set, various jungle themed sets, arctic, tomb/desert themed sets.

I've got the Battle Command Post, which I think is probably the best of the playsets available in the US. It's the most interactive and the best for setting up dioramas either with the inside or the outside.
I've also got the Battlefield playset. It works best as a backdrop and not as well as a building. Most of the problem is the layout. I don't think a lot of thought went into how figures would be placed and moved throughout, so you've got stairs or walls in weird places. The inside isn't as useful for dioramas either. The watchtowers are fine. The only downside to them is the standard oversized automatic grenade launcher. I haven't gotten the Quonset Hut, which looks like it would be even better than the Battle Command Post. |

Thanks for the help. I wouldn't have thought to check out those Animal Planet sets -- the Giant Cobra Snake Playset looks like a fun setting for ARAH figures. However, I can't find a decent arctic playset. The Yeti one doesn't seem to have a lot ice or snow in it. Are there others out there?

You can look at arctic playsets made by Playmobil. They are out of production but with patience theres a lot to chose from on the auction site.
