The way that all the recent action figure Kickstarters have been set up kind of makes it an "all of the above" situation. It's definitely a donation to begin with, and as a reward you are allowed to preorder what you would want. Once it definitely funds though, I would bet more people jump in knowing that the line will be produced, and at that point are treating it as a preorder.
It's only a donation if you don't get anything in return. It's only an investment if you see some of the profits. And it's only a preorder if it's already in production. Kickstarter has become s Me kind of hybrid.

What i meant to say about it was that, "BECAUSE the big companies are falling short in supplying the scaled lines that they had established from the beginning", fans either have to do without certain unproduced characters or custom/commission that character themselves. Which is another reason why these kickstarters have become a welcomed source. While i enjoy customizing, i understand that it is not for everyone. When fans have to resort to it or commission a customizer speaks of a popular demand that has fallen short as the actual licensed properties have slowly (if not already) withdrawn their supply.

'Ultimate' characters with several weapons, heads, and gear options flew off the shelves. If dust were cocaine, the boring ho-hum 'ninja armor Snake Eyes' and other 'specific variant characters' would be carrying more than a low-flying Columbian airplane. I mean, we didn't need a 'new' version of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow with every wave, and the sales on the 'Ultimate' version said if you do it right once, it'll sell. The guys like Marauder John have figured it out. Fans want options. Hopefully, the Zombie Lab guys will figure that out. Look, I guess a survivor is cool and all. But if you really want me to throw money at you, do the smart thing- give me 'apocalypse survivor' weapons like nail bats, machetes of all sorts, tomahawks, and other stuff. Give me the option to 'create a zombie' of sorts- a mutated tentacled zombie, a rotten skeletal zombie covered in occult stuff, zombies with 'Frankenstein' mechanical bits on them to make them lethal. Before I throw a few bucks at them, I'll need to see them giving me more options. |

While it is an interesting argument about what kickstarter is, or how we see it, please, don't take this at a personal level. We might have thoughts even if we do not know the exact process behind it. And don't be upset if someone is trying to explain at a larger scene, how kickstarter works. Learning is always a good thing.
I might not used proper words about an investment, but if we see it from the perspective of cheaper figures that can be sold at full price later, to recoup some cash, well, it is an investment. Or at least we are investing to the future of 1:18 figures. To have them around a few more years. Also, I did some kickstarters where I only sent money and did not want any rewards, I only wanted to be part of funding the creators. Rewards, tiers, levels, etc are optional and it is mostly to boost pledges. But I think it still not meets the definition of pre-order. |

Can you still back this? Is the 2nd Chance still viable?

Hey guys... I AM a moderator and this bickering is going to stop right now.
I cannot believe you guys can take a really cool, fully funded, awesomely sculpted zombie action figure line and turn it into a who's got a bigger peen bitch-fest.

From what I could see they looked to be the exact same quality as BFS. I don't think these guys are going to skimp on quality. I spoke to them for a good amount of time and their passion for the scale and this line was without doubt. We talked about their plans for the future and it included was more figures/parts and customizable dip pieces and vehicles. They're not in this to hit and run.

*Pruned*
I suggest everyone take a break for the keyboard for a while and just be happy you were able to get some of these figures.
