Spartan gear fits nicely. The Zombie hands are in a grasping pose and so make it hard to hold a sword, but it can be wedged in.

My cheeks are painted. THis is Kobe. I don't know if I have the same fig Zap does as I haven't opened all of mine yet, but I haven't had a buttock without paint.

I'll post some pics later on to show what I'm talking about.

I did a quick swap Kobe / Barbarian to add to Zaps comments.
The Barbarian torso fits easily on Kobe's lower (it is a bit loose - for posing not an issue but it is a bit loose). Mine is not as loose as Zaps, but it is loose :( I was able to to put the Kobe torso onto the boss fight lower - but not with the abdomen piece in. I think the hole through the abdomen is indeed a little small. When the abdomen piece is on it presses on the acceptor and the BF ball on the torso doesn't go in it. If you wanted to put a BossFight lower onto a Zombie top I think you'll need to dremel out the hole in the abdomen piece to increase the diameter. BTW: If you are looking for a some male models for your 2019 Hunky Man Calendar, I think you have a winner here (see pic). Last edited by Vegas; 10-23-2018 at 05:09 PM.. |

So many skeptics! OK, here we go...
Unpainted upper thighs: Duncan Ryan Differently sized waist pegs and lower abdomen holes: Will not fit: Fits too loosely: Arms down as far as they can possibly go: Oversized hands, paint rub on wrists, paint on pegs, and mismatched peg sizes: Head cast in white: Did I miss anything?

So here's the thing - I often do a little bit of a "don't want to get into it" with Zap posts - because you do approach figures with a more discerning eye then I do in terms of valuation establishment. And typically I can see your POV when I disagree so no room for argument and I walk away considering both sides of the value.
On your review I can say this - you've asked if you're missing anything and others are suggesting there is a degree of negativity and my response to both is this: I think you're largely correct with your analysis. Starting at the top - I was an all in so I had a box of roughly 27 figures in nice neat boxes. Honestly I wish all KS would stop with the box nonsense. If someone wants boxes - let those that do fund the box dev and process entirely. In this case even though I had 27 boxes in a box the box material is meh. Its thin cardstock and that's fine - but its not like its some premium box that adds significant value. If you're buying off the shelf post KS on a $27 basis - its worth what? $0.25 of that? Maybe $2.00 if you're a box aficionado. On the upper thighs - I hadn't checked and I'm not that exacting. But come on. Silly. On the different sizing from BFS - Frustrating because compatibility was a key function here. Nothing that can't be worked around but c'mon. Silly. On the paint rub of joints - this is why you use different colors of plastic. This I had noticed as well and while its not the worst I've ever seen - if I were in at $27 a figure? Nonsense. I think you've been really a bit on the kind side by not piling onto the skin coloration ridiculousness. Compare the skin tone of Duncan, Debbie, Jenna and they are massively grey. Its just weird on a massive scale and this was absolutely brought up early in dev that the color they were posting looked odd. I mean is it that hard to look at a Lando, or Road Block, or Luke Cage, or Storm, or etc. etc. action figure and realize that any sort of relationship to what can be referred to as an african or southern asian skin tone is massively different then the grey tone here? Overall am I upset about my purchase of these? No. I think if you're getting at the KS price its relatively fair. Would I pay $27 for these figures? Probably not. Depending on how they move forward I would find it difficult to re-up another couple hundred bucks on their product. Doesn't mean I would write it off - I wouldn't. But know what you're getting when you look at these. To me, more then anything, it feels like they moved quicker than most Kickstarter's and saw it as an advantage when they could get on production due to others not being ready to go. And that haste is how you come up with issues that others have solved. IE cast in weird colors, odd paint apps, ridiculously overstressed joints (#17 I'm looking at your left elbow), incompatibility for no good reason. If I had to 1-10 rate these after now about 2 weeks of working with them I'd probably come in around a 6. They represent some good thought but ultimate a mix of occasionally good execution and often really poorly done execution. We'll see how they progress... Quote:

Nicely detailed (unlike the source material) review.
