I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Mego Eagle Force line, hopefully there is. I planned on giving my son an Eagle Island playset with a bunch of eagle force guys, but upon inspection of the figures, I'm worried they might be lead based die cast since they were made in the early 80's. Are there any lead in these figures or is it safe for my four year old to play with?

No idea if theres lead in them, but i remember those things being pretty clunky, not sure i'd want a 4yo tossing them around. Also the pieces were extremely small, thats if you still have the weapons, after all they were extremely tiny.

Yeah now that you mention it, hefting these things in my hand makes me worry. They have 'broken window' written all over them :P
I'm trying to convince my son now to take a Mobile Command Center as a replacement. Sure it's bigger, but that eagle island is so much cooler looking. Just wish I had room on one of my shelves so I could keep it for myself since he won't be getting it. Ooo, just looking online, I just found a suitable, safer replacement: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Marx-WWI...QQcmdZViewItem The Navarone Mountain playset was huge for me as a kid, he'll love it. Even though it was made for small plastic army men, I had my joes use it as a mini fort when I was little. Last edited by Roshan; 06-01-2009 at 04:15 PM.. |

I would click over to the Mego Museum guys and ask them as they have a HUGE database of what Mego produced, including the Eagle Force collection. If anyone knows they would.
WOOHOO!! 300th POST!!!!!

I was just looking at one of those the other day. I never owned one, but several of my friends did. Do you think it could be adapted into a Cobra Base, or is it too small?

Man, The Eagle Force were a great line of toys. I had them when I was a kid. I left them outside one day when we went to the store ,came back and they were all gone. My suspensions went to the neighbors kid, cause he magically had a set the next week. Now talking about this has made me mad. I ought to find him on Facebook and whoop his ass. Yes, I am that petty. Sorry back to the subject at had. Whatever you do make sure they dont end up on Ebay. These figures deserve a good and someone who would cherish childhood memories. I would make it your weekly thing to pull these little guys out once a week and play with them with your kid. This way you could supervise him and maybe he would pass this down to his kids.
