I spotted a few of the new Transformers at Target today. My first and favorite Autobot, Sideswipe was there, but if it didn't have his name printed on the label, I would never have known it was him. I understand they have to go all movie on him. I know he has to be all spikey and steel looking because that's the movie style. Believe me, I'm still working on getting used to the movie's anti-classic designs. But why couldn't he have at least been RED? Was that too much to ask?
It sucks they dropped the gun. It was a great idea. Still I like Stratosphere. It would be awesome if he was bigger since he is kind of like a movie Omega Supreme.

Man Soundwave is the most disappointing ROTF figure I've bought so far. The amount of articulation is great, but nothing locks together well in any mode. The satellite mode...uh yeah.....plane mode...it has minimal transformation.
Decent, but far from best figure in the line. Now The Fallen,....this is a great figure. Love the design and articulation. Hate the spring loaded feet. Unlike Soundwave, everything locks together far better, and there is a more involved transformation. |

The articulation is nice except for the head and if you attach the arms to the tabs coming out of his sides. I didn't know his head moved up and down some until I looked at a review. It won't move very much and if you have the energy absorption panels out it moves even less. Also I fold in the part that covers his head in alt. mode differently were it hides the little wings.

Right now the Voyager version has only been sighted at TRU to the best of my knowledge. Since Leader class figures are so big and expensive I don't think many places will have a lot of them so he may have been picked over. Both versions are superior to the first movie versions. Like you said it is the beginning though.

I picked up Sideswipe and Sideways. Loving Sideswipe all around and Sideways' vehicle mode but I really do not like Sideways' robot mode. I do want Leader Prime and Jetfire. I'll wait until the movie to see what others I might get.
I'm looking forward to the Human Alliance sets. Those look really nice. |
