Mere weeks after I'd sold the last of my G.I. Joe customs and kitbashes and said farewell to the entire 1:18 scale, a good friend on Facebook surprised me with a gift card to the online store of Boss Fight Studio, whose work I had resolved to admire from afar. After surprisingly little deliberation, I opted for the Cursed Spartan figure, from the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. series. I like his inherent versatility; I can use him as a prop in the background or a living statue or whatever I like. ...and man alive, I had no idea how cool he'd be. His articulation is stellar, his sculpt as you can see is gorgeous, and he's photogenic as hell. I don't regret having parted with my 1:18 figures. (It helps that I kept Hellboy, Indy and three or four of my Joes). However, I do wish I'd had this beauty during the shoot: I gave her to a friend a few years ago. And this Halloween decoration, which was friggin' made to go with this figure, I included in the lot of Joes when I sold them: I don't regret parting with her, but Walgreen's has had her two years in a row (she retails for $20, but if you'd like to get one to go with your H.A.C.K.S. setup, wait until November 1, when she's always marked down to $10), and I may be tempted to pick her up again this Halloween. ...and I'm already tempted to buy more Cursed Spartans. ...and maybe some Gorgons. ...and a Spartan Warrior. ...and... Here's a link to the Boss Fight Store: Boss Fight Studio Web Store – Boss Fight Studio - The Store Please, save me from myself. Last edited by Monte Williams; 01-14-2018 at 09:50 PM.. |

Go buy as many as you can. The rest of the line is just as stellar.
Great pics. I think it was a series like these that you posted before that made me rush out and buy that Hellboy figure. |

Hi Monte, great pics!
On their site, items are for Pre-order. So, I guess they are already shipping? How long did it take to receive your order?

Some items are shipping, but most are still finishing up in China and should be here Stateside in another week or two. They have some of the Blanks in stock, plus the Stone Spartan, regular Spartan, PostCurse Medusa (with the snake tail), and the Black Racer and Coral Gorgons. The Bronze Spartan is also shipping, but was a Kickstarter exclusive. He's proving so popular that I'll be very surprised if they don't do a Bronze Athenian or Amazon as well.

Some comments by at least one, but I think two, BFS members hint that they want to do them, as well as Stone versions. I'm thinking they're waiting for all the figures to get out to us before making up their minds whether to do a Greek 1.5 wave or go right into the Fantasy series, which they say is all ready for molding.

I'm also interested to see what they have planned for the Fantasy and Space Adventure lines. There are sections on the website, but no details yet.
