Lucky! If you don't mind me asking though, why did you cancel such an awesome figure?

No question about that. While I believe Hasbro did try hard to please us early on with the modern line, I feel as though they just as quickly dismissed us and didn't care what we wanted or thought (obviously they did listen to us a lot, but sometimes it wasn't enough) about their quality in the long run. Mattel actually seems to listen to the fans complaints and desires and seems to strive to put out the highest quality product that they can.
Honestly, the GI Joe movie should have been a blessing for the modern line, but so far it has been the fly in the ointment (if only because the movie was done haphazardly). If the movie fails, it will most likely be the end for the modern line. I have very mixed emotions on the whole matter. I think Hasbro had good intentions at the beginning and then once the line became such a hit, the corporate guys pushed their ideas onto the design team more forcefully and in turn their judgment was completely clouded by the almighty dollar. I still think that an online only Joe line (just like He-Man's MOTUC) is probably a better fit for the future (if the movie does prove to be a failure). I still hope the Joe line comes back in 2010 and regains it's exciting potential that it had in 2007 and 2008. One other thing I liked about Mattel is that they are right in the mix with the collectors. ToyGuru, a mattel executive, actually post on the He-man.org forum from time to time. Quote:
Got mine today too. The figure looks great, but as a momc guy it was a disappointment as the card is smashed all to hell. I dont mind all to much the minor flaw, but I have seen better cards in a walmart return bend. Someone posted that they would pay extra to have the figures put into some type of protective case. I would agree with that and would pay the little extra.

Man with all the trouble they make fans go through trying to get one online and spending $20 for the figure and another $9 for shipping you would expect to them hire people who handle these with care.My Zodac arrived crushed to hell >:(
