I think if they got rid of the mechanism and had the wings and wheels manuallly operated it would help. I had to take my Skystriker apart and mod it so I could fly it with the wings open. I don't know who had the dumb idea to link the wings and the wheels together in the first place.

What the PTE Hornet lacks, and what drives up the cost of a Skystriker, are the variable geometry wing/landing gear mechanisms and all the small parts that entails.

I've also heard that the 'Striker no longer passes the mandatory "drop tests".
The solution is simple, if a new Skystriker is made based off of the classic but more detailed(like the 25th Ghost HAWK/Sting Raider), just make the vertical stabilizer connections and ports similar to that of the Thunderwing. |

Maybe Hasbro just hates you guys, then?
I long ago stopped caring what Hasbro did with vehicles, there are far too many manufacturers doing superior product to do so. Then again. M&C (who Hasbro really should be aping) doesn't have to worry about "fan rage". They can keep their tiny, stuck in '86 vehicles. I've moved on. They do a pretty mean figure, though. |

Fellow fansite Small Scale HQ linked some new pictures of the JSI F14. Thanks to SSHQ's Gouchy for his bud's recon.

Im of the same mind, why? You cant even park the jet on the USS FLAGG without it taking up one third of the flight deck. I cant see why Hasbro just wont plunk down the money and have the skystriker done as an 25th anniversary issue jet, its the 25th anniv. line that brought Joe back to the toy aisle. Sure the movie helped, but how much overpriced, re-issued product do you see out there. Joes should always be under 6$ and the vehicles should be no more than $15 to $20--of coarse larger vehicles require a bigger price tag. The new Y WING from Hasbro is $70, like they couldnt have made a skystriker from half the plastic that the y wing is made from and still have a decent price tag of $60. Cut out the mechanism and switch to manual pull out landing gear like the PTE F-18 Hornet and get rid of the gear mechanism and have the wings be manually moved and you are set. Some cockpit decals and bunny ears for egress seats and you are good to go. Drop test or no drop test, its still an iconic aircraft to the Joe line and its stuck at the cool factor of +10. Hasbro is so missing the boat. Im almost ashamed at looking at what's ahead for the Joe line, all I see are dark painted re-issues. Lame Hasbro, lame and you know it. Where is the VTOL Cheetah and the Submarnine playset from the ROC line? As far as the JSI F-14, Im still waiting but manoman am I glad I ordered it. I plan on submitting questions to JSI this week, so if you have any questions you'd like me to ask JSI, post them here or at Toyark!
