Back in the day there was Children's Palace along with Toys R Us and Circus World (KayBee's). I loved going to all 3...But Children's Palace was awesome. Big white castle looking store. Had a big panda in red overalls. Was HUGE inside. And had isles that the tops seemed to go on for ever. It was cheaper than TRU. And had much larger selection. It closed it's doors in late 80's to early 90's. I climbed all the way to the top of one of those rolling ladders. They had huge rows of JOE figures. I was searching for some cool finds one time with my dad. And at the top I found a Snake-eyes w/Timber, Storm Shadow, and a Gung-Ho. I was so excited...Man, I miss that store. Great time as a kid going there.
Let me know if any of you guys thought of that place. If they were around you area or time. |

It was called Child World in Chicago. I loved that place when I was a kid. It always had a bigger selection of Joes then TRU did.

We had one in Chattanooga when I was growing up. I remember they had Televipers V1 in the clearance bin for $2.00 each back then. When I moved to Michigan they had Toys r us and K Bee. Stopped collecting for a bit between those moves. I prefer K Bee because the prices where always better.

Hard to believe there were stores that cost more than KayBee and K&K did.

i remember the white castle toy store.. the one i went to as a child was in scranton pa and it was on top of a large hill so it really stood out... i remember going there every weekend with my aunt and she always let me spend 20 on whatever i wanted.. back in the late 80s $20 went a long way
