I grew up in the early and mid 1980s in South East Asia, so I wasnt always able to get American toys (and GI Joe was viritually impossible until 1986), so I grew up with Gundam, Macross, and other japanese robot shows, so I had a pretty exciting childhood when I could get what I want. When I moved back to the states, it was very hard to get all the Japanese toys and models I took for granted, and have spent the last dozen years scouring the internet and the world looking for another change to get the toys I used to have, neglected, set fire to, or blew up with firecrackers :(
So anyway, here are some of the lines I collect: - GI Joe - Mostly 1982-1983, including Action Force's Red Shadows. I managed to get the Mobat, APC, Ram, Vamp, and Shadow Tracker all MIB. I've gotten the Resolute sets and POC too, but I dont consider those part of my golden years. - Starcom - I love toys that dont take up a lot of space, and Starcom are great small toys. I've got just about everything, and gotten just about off of it MIB, including the Shadow Bat. Loaded with 2 Parasites, its one of my favorite toys, period. - Star Wars - While I loved vintage Star Wars as a kid, I have limited my collection to the modern versions (as in the latest) of the original 12 Kenner figures, plus a few more like the Vintage Boba Fett from last year and the latest Rebel Fleet Trooper, and Biggs, Fixer, a few of the Cantina aliens. I also like the mini-rigs and vehicles that size as those were the toys I had as a kid (my parents didnt by me very many big-ticket items - so no AT-AT or anything like that). I am a rabid fan of Episode IV, particularly the first 30min of the film, including the deleted scenes. I also have the McQuarrie sets which I love too. M.A.S.K. - I am only interested in a few vehicles, but I am hunting down mint ones and that is taking some time and $$$. Amazingly I have managed to get unused sticker sheets for most of them without even getting the vehicles. So its just a matter of time before I am done with this one. Model Kits - I grew up on anime models from 1980s, and thanks to the internet and random finds here and there, I have managed to accumulate an amazing assortment of small model kits from that time period, including robot/vehicle kits from Dougram, anything Crusher Joe, old 1/200 Macross kits by Nichimo, rare 1/144 and 1/120 Orguss kits, mini Blue Noah and Star Blazer kits, and other rare stuff. I am only intersted in small kits, like 3-5 inches long, but have gotten almost everything I ever wanted. Dougram was my favorite as a kid for a couple of years, and many of you would recognize the robots if you are familiar with early Battletech. I've built over 100 Gundam kits over the years, but are so sick of them, and now only have the 1/288 Gunpla ones released a couple of years ago as a tribute. I also collect 1/76 Scale Matchbox model kits - My very first model was a 1/76 Matchbox Panzer II - and it changed my life. It was one of the first things I bought when I moved to Asia. I've built a dozen Panzer IIs since over the years. For those not familiar these tanks are only a 2-3 inches long when built, and usually comes with a couple of figures and a diorama stand. Very cool. There are better model companies out there, but none include everything the Matchbox ones did (Revell is now selling them, but I prefer the origionals). I used to have the Air Raiders toys, and wish I still had them. regardless of silly story and cheap figures, I loved some of the vehicles. I was a huge Diaclone fan as a kid long before it was used for Transformers, but lost a lot of that stuff over the years. I was a G1 Transformers fan, but I havent bothered trying to budget what it would cost me to get many of the figures I used to have all over again, like Jazz and Optimus. Chogokin series - I am kinda getting interested in getting some of these toys. I kinda shunned the Shogun Warrior type robots like Com Battler as a kid as I was all about more realistic robots like Macross as a kid, but lately I have just been so impressed with these and their character. I wont get many, but I am excited about the recent ones I've gotten. - I am thinking about getting some of the Matty Collector Classic He-Man figures, as they really have done what looks like a great job re-visioning the original He-Man concept. I never saw the cartoon overseas - so the only details I could get where from the early mini-comics, where He-Man is more like Conan the Barbarian than anything else. I love that concept. Anyone have these figs? |

Uhhhhhhhhh...mostly GI Joe, Star Wars, Revoltech, and Marvel Universe. Then I have a smattering of other lines like A D&D, Figma, Robotech, Lego Castle, Thundercats, MOTUC, DC Direct, and some statue lines (which I guess aren't "toys").
Pretty soon it is going to have to start trickling down to what I have room for. So, I'll have to be more discriminating or sell off some stuff.

I collect 1:18ish scale figures so I have a lot of G.I. Joe, Marvel Universe, and Star Wars figures. I'll take any cool figure that is roughly that scale though. I have a shitload of Ultimate Soldier and similar type figures as well.
