Sounds like this guy thinks Hasbro should just make G.I. Joe into Elite Force Bravo Team. |

I don't know, but Hasbro is unwilling to let Joe become violent like Call of Duty and the llike, so kids are skipping Joes in favor of those game franchises.

Do you remember when Mattel made all those billions of dollars on Call of Duty action figures last year? Or how Halo toys have shelf-space that makes Star Wars look like a middling franchise at all major retailers now? Yeah...me neither. Certainly, there is absolute validity to the idea that electronic gadgetry and video games in general are contributing to the decline of action figures. But pointing to specific franchises as "killing" other specific franchises is ignoring who's doing most of the buying and playing of video games: It's vastly weighted towards people that are already out of the normal target age-range for action figures. Call of Duty selling a million copies in a day isn't stopping kids from getting into G.I. Joe. As far as I can tell, these guys are basically just repackaging and re-iterating the typical collector complaints as marketing, which y'know...is probably good marketing for the audience they want to reach. Good on them, I guess. I still wish them all success in their endeavour, the stuff looks like it could be pretty cool even if I won't likely be buying, but I'm already taking a lot of what they say with a grain of salt. |

Play With This Too's second figure is an homage to Generation 1 Skullgrin, also called Dauros in Masterforce.
WikiAlpha.org page - http://en.wikialpha.org/wiki/Desolataur Desolataur is a 6 inch tall articulated monstrous minotaur with optional hand, alternate head, weapons and a transforming Tech Drone partner. He is the first "bad guy" of their toy line from PWTT, and is designed by former Hasbro designer Steve Redinger. It will be part of their Kickstarte project coming early in 2015. http://www.playwiththistoo.com |

I was unaware this site did one thread for each line. Sorry.
If the mods want this all into one thread, then please merge them and I'll post in that one thread. Thanks! Last edited by Scaleface; 11-04-2014 at 09:36 PM.. |

Okay then, now that we have one grand Play With This Too Thread, here is another character!
-- Play With This Too's remold/recolor of Astroblast is figure named Goldmine, announced at Rhode Island Comic Con this weekend. He's a clear homage to Generation 1 Landmine/Masterforce Lander. WikiAlpha.org page - Goldminer - WikiAlpha Goldmine is a 6 inch tall articulated hero figure with optional hands, weapons and a transforming Tech Drone partner. The drone can become a backpack for Goldminer, a scout car, robot or combine with Goldminer's weapons for several cool configurations, including as an auger. He is designed by Mark Wong and Rik Alvarez. It will be part of their Kickstarter project coming early in 2015. Play With This Too Last edited by Scaleface; 11-05-2014 at 06:41 AM.. |

Desolator looks nice. He has a nice classical demon sort of vibe.
