Whats the deal with these? When were they released? Are they worth getting? Are they the same molds and quality as the originals?

Are you talking about the ones released, I think, in the very early 2000's that were straight re-issues of the original action figures?
I have these open and I'm not a MOTU expert, but they are more or less exactly like the old ones. There may be some differences in them that I don't know about. Cool. Then why are they not more expensive on eBay? You would figure with the "10,000 limited" thing and the fact that they use the original molds, that they would be worth more. Just my POV

Because they are exactly the sale look (less quality plastic) as teh originals and you can get the original for an average of $10 rather than the official repro.

They actually don't use the original molds. The originals were destroyed some time ago. Mattel actually had to recast molds for the commemorative series. There are some subtle differences I think mainly in the heads and the bottoms of the feet.
There are some packaging differences as well. Here are a couple of links that explain in a little more detail: Are these originals or reissue - He-Man.org Forums Difference between classic He-man and Commemorative? - He-Man.org Forums |

I would pesonally rather have the OGs.
In comparing my OG Skeletor Havoc staff to the Comm. Series one there are glaring differences. biggest one - the color OG is a darker purple matching the gear of Skeletor where as the repro one is a very light purple, almost as if it was diluted with too much white paint. secondly the plastic used although from what I recall the repro stuff is harder, it just doesnt look as good as the OG stuff just my opinion It was awesome to see them on the shelves the nostalgic factor was great and to see a childhood fav out today was great!
