Well it stills looks the same after washing, weathered and grainy. The powdery substance washes off really easy when we water testing them which is when someone noticed.
I guess it could be the mold release agent, I've found it on every single new acid rain figure we've opened up so far so it's related to how they're manufactured. Thank you guys. If you're finding this powder on all the Acid Rain figures you've opened, and assuming your talking about different figures from different production runs, then yeah it should be normal. I'd be curious to see pictures of this powder you're talking about. |

I'm still curious as to why you wash and water test figures? What is this "team" of yours and what is it you do toys?

I'd be curious to see pictures of this powder you're talking about. (Aka things he wants to sell) It's invisible to the naked eye, but when you feel the new Acid Rain figures, it has a powdery feel akin to those cheap grocery bags they give you to bag vegetables at supermarkets. It washes off with one good washing as our water tester found out. We were testing for any water soluble paints. (He also tests how durable figures are in water, whether it floats, how resistant to water damage they are and water retention. By the way, you guys would be surprised how many stuffed animals use Water soluble paint when they're not supposed to.) |

We do Quality Assurance on products for our client.

I'd of thought it'd be mostly for children's products, which Acid Rain isn't. |

That's my job, our team goes through multiple identical units and analyze packaging, paint, water, articulation and bending tests and once in a while heat test. Then we calculate a defect rate, write up product quality reports. Usually, most of the figures are almost untouched even with that abuse, but it's not unusual for one or two to break in stress tests. These are usually sold, discounted depending on what got damaged. Failed product gets binned IMMEDIATELY, that's garbage. We are also analyzing Days Sales Outstanding while we do these tests, but these are much more complex and revolve around customer behavior, and past sales data etc. We also have to take into account price increases and quality drops for example. |

It's all come back a few times. 'Sold out' doesn't mean it's all gone, just that BBTS burned through their current batch, not that it's no longer being produced; so keep checking.

I purchased two of each SDCC Exclusives Speeder and Stronghold. Great sets but love the Stealth Stronghold especially.
Anyone interested in purchasing my extra SDCC Stealth Speeder? |

I received my Viking Shield figure from EE. He's nice and I didn't experience the residue discussed above. I will day that the plastic is a little lighter than expected. Right now I'm considering getting the Laurel Ghost mecha for him. I see it more as an "Ice" design rather than clear ghost and fitting for the winter figures.
