Just finally caved and bought the Iron Man figure.
Overall he is a decent figure. Most of the pluses can be seen when he is still in the package... He looks pretty great, he has well sculpted but limited hands, and he is Iron Man! Also worth mentioning is that once he is in your hands you will realize that his chest articulation is great, he can lean forward and backwards very well. For anyone who is curious here are the negatives that this figure has, his head cant look up enough for him to have the "Im flying" pose, his arms cant lie flat against his sides which takes away the superman pose(chest out, elbows tucked close, and forearms out to the side), his chest is kinda thin for a super hero in body armor, his lower legs do not come close to achieving 90 degrees, and his elbows dont quite make 90 degrees either. Also, I am not sure if mine just fails or what but he has a lot of loose joints. One lower leg is loose, one foot is loose, and one shoulder pad is loose. Also, on mine the hip joints dont work all that well, the T crotch joint is made out of soft plastic and generally it wants to bend before the ball joint wants to move, this leads to a lot of putting the leg in the position you want it in only to watch it spring back to its origin because you only bent the t crotch plastic, you didnt move the actual leg. That said he is certainly not a bad figure, just not a great figure. If you are a fan or minor fan and dont have a wife that is going to beat you when you get home with another walmart bag than you might as well spring for him... especially if you have any customizing skills(aka you can fix loose joints and lack of 90 degree motions). 7.5 out of 10 UPDATE:: With a little bit of work he has bumped up to about a 8.8. I put vasoline on his hip joints. used xacto to shave down back of legs and right above his forearms. Cut his neck down around the ball joint so he can look further up and down. Tightened joints with loctite superglue. He is pretty much awesome now, just took a little work.

Whats with the triangle chest? I've not kept up with Iron Man or anything. I seen the classic Iron Man and think i'd get that one. That's the one i remember seeing as a kid.

Im already thinking about what head I can use to replace this one and It will be easy to green stuff a circle on his chest. The classic figure is to boring for me, he looks... plain.

I got both classic and ultimate. There are great, but most of the figures have loose joined they need to be corrected in the future wave.

One of the better ones, in my opinion. Black Spider Man is the best so far.

The triangular omnibeam chest emitter was introduced in the comics back in the 80s, with the red and silver "Silver Centurion" armor. It's a design feature that's remained, all the way through to the "Modern Armor." that this figure represents. I'm actually interested to see if it'll be introduced, in the movies.

From what I've read they are going for a movie likeness. I like the Extremis/Prometheus 2 esqe armor they used for W1 IM. |
