I've tried to avoid collecting anything but gi joes. Since i love monsters, I do have Beast Wars, Ghostbusters, Power Lords, Inhumanoids, Manimals(I refuse to acknowledge this as gi joe), Lunatrix, etc. But I recently got an Elephant Mon from a thrift store lot and let me tell you. I like Star Wars aliens. I enjoy playing with them. I love the wacky designs. Yet, I refuse to collect any of the Star Wars humans and troopers.
Why? Unlike the aliens, which seem to be a 80s melange of different designs and have a somewhat generic design. The troopers and the droids are Star Wars. But give a kid or someone else a Cantina alien and it might as well be from Michael Moorcock, Wayne Barlowe, Fantastic Planet or Moebius. Anyone else feel the same way about them? |

I actually just saw a SW comic pack with some weird snake looking creature. It would make a great "I was once a man" Commander from the movie. I only get other lines to kit bash.
Most of the SW aliens are pretty cool but the humans are only good for custom fodder in my eyes. I was never really a SW fan though. |

You just gave me an idea for two different customs with that quote. I completely forgot about the Ewoks. You get 3 of them too. I wish Target had them when they had the SW stuff on sale. Figures $6.50 and comic packs $9.99.

I'll probably pick up Amanin eventually. My main want at the moment is Muftak, the half bug/half yeti thingy and Rippertunie, the harmonica playing dinosaur. Wow, that sounds so absurd. Muftak - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki Rappertunie - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki |

Unfortunately for me, my son is more into SW figures. The articulation on most of them sucks. But he doesn't care. His favorites are Darth Maul and Ventrus. He uses the aliens as troops and they usually meet with bad demises.

I have a bunch of Star Wars MOC aliens and others for sale or trade in my b/s/t thread. Check 'em out if you are interested.
