My statements are in reference to above quote, as all the mentioned toylines are made in hong kong and china.
Now if you're going to crack wise and spit out something like Hasbro's office is in Rhode Island, I can remind that Lanard's design staff is based in Oxnard California. I've heard arguments about repaints, repackaging, which all of the companies do, I've heard arguments over articulation, which have not only been addressed but improved upon. I've heard arguing over not enough online presence and explained that there are differences in businesses practices. Let's look at the hard data for a moment A Real American Hero lasted from 82-94 Came back in 97/98 to toys r us Then came back briefly prior to joe vs cobra/spy troops/valor vs venom Then does it's dtc before it's 25th through retaliation and tru exclusives and now joe is gone. Nothing in stores. Chap mei has been doing it's soldier force since the 90s non stop, sub contracts with excite toys, toys r us for sentinel one, and hero force for target, and still has a small presence outside the us, and a small assortment at family dollar. M&C has continued through the 90s and recently started selling as click n play online, but mainly sells through big lots during the holidays. Then we have Lanard who since 1986 has produced its Gung-Ho, Corps!, star force. Jurassic clash, primal clash. Without missing a year! And has remained in the 1:18 retail market, at virtually every retail chain and recently mainly through walmart. I put these facts up not to say one is better or one is worse, these facts show that Lanard has stayed and is growing. Not as a knock off as some may say, but as it's own brand. If you are going to say corps are a knock off, then know your history, because G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero is a knock off of both Mego ( who pioneered the o ring figures in 1:18 ). You can also site tristar for it's o ring m.a.s.h. figures, or remco sgt rock as all came before A Real American Hero. These are a matter of fact! Each brand is it's own entity, this knock off talk is horsecrap, it's propaganda to sell you that GIJOE is the real deal, but it is it's own brand. Remco American Defense was it's own brand, this conversation is as controversial as it is relevant and true. Popularity may have been the basis on many fans to rally to GIJOE, but that's branding, marketing and as the retail market has changed Hasbro lost it's foothold on it's soldier. Lanard has continued to be a lead innovator in both Boys and Girls brands, and as much as anyone wants to gripe, the improvements Lanard has built up it's brand while Hasbro hasn't. Would you like to discuss the international markets? I can do that too I have no qualms stating that I believe Hasbro has not been dedicated to the Joe brand over the course of it's initial run from 82-94 (the end of the original run of GI Joe is pretty interesting as they were going to go back to their roots with the battle rangers line and re-release some of the classic vehicles and all of the prototypes for 1995 looked promising...i digress), 1997-98 releases, 2000-2001 releases, spy troops/VvV, DTC and then the modern era runs. There has been alot of mismanagement of the toy line over the past 35+ years going bacK. I still do feel that GI Joe is standard bearer for the 3 3/4" - 4" inch military action figure. Since GI Joe has gone on hiatus the secondary market has seen prices increase. Alot of it has to do with brand recognition, nostalgia but also the figures being superior to the other brands out there. |

Looks like Smythes won't be the only place to see what's coming for Time Crisis!

The vehicle offerings are really appealing. Need the Rainfire and the Rock and new figs too! Media to bring the characters alive is also welcome.

Media like an animated series, or live action show? I agree!

Quite a few things have been posted on the FB group, no new figures yet. Seems that the 6 inch line is coming back though.

In the past I have seen a lot of stuff being posted that is suppose to be new only to see the same old three Packs pop up and this stuff isn’t worth it to pay 30-40 bucks to be shipped from overseas.

Same with Fss 5.0 Jane, FSS 6.0 Dojo, Retaliation Red Ninjas, and Hiya Colonial Marine Figures |

Walt has confirmed that the new three packs will each have at least one new figure and that the Craptastic Four will be removed from the three packs. Not sure how many new three packs there will be, but this is great news.
