Hasbro's brand of nearly 50 years, GI Joe, received a lack luster presentation at Toyfair. It showed. Star Wars received, ironically in a non-movie year --- greater time, money, and effort. We all saw it, in your slicker better scripted PowerPoint of essentially another company’s product, Lucasfilm. All the while, Joe’s websites saw many low-grade cel phone photos of Joe’s own line of film products. Your own official Toyfair photos of Joe, also, had little words, not much of an interaction or script, versus that other toyline’s slicker fanfriendly PowerPoint & presentation. Given the unceremonious presentation of Joe just past us, and the rest of his movie lineup just ahead of us. Will we millions of fans see you Hasbro put on a far bigger better show of effort, make a big splash at the next convention the Comic-Con, and give due honor to Joe who gave nearly half-a-century of himself to his millions of fans and so much money to you Hasbro.

Dearest Hasbro:
Is there any chance of settling on one articulation style as standard across the Marvel-related lines? For example, the Wolverine Origins figs have a different style arms and legs than the Marvel Universe figs. As a matter of fact, if you could settle all lines on the GI Joe style articulation with leg screws, no hip balls or bicep swivels, that would be OK by me . P.S. I couldn't be happier about the Marvel U line and the lineup choices so far. Thanks!~ |

I mean seriously, how many (different) 3.75-inch lines has Hasbro done in the past few years? Almost all with some difference in articulation, scale and/or part-fit. And yet even Star Wars has varied from wave to wave. And scale isn't exactly solid in the Joe line.... You'd think one articulation model would save money through volume and (dare I say it) the ability to re-use parts across lines... Though I'd think the Joe model is probably the most expensive, so maybe we should be careful what we wish for. |
