I found both the Marvel Universe figures and Origins figures at Toys R Us here in Memphis today. Both lines were hit and miss for me. I got the three Marvel figures I wanted from Wave 1, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spiderman.
These figures work great with Joes. Spiderman has the best articulation to get him in all those Spidey poses. Iron Man is great and his shoulder armor is hinged to give a full range of movement, unlike Wraith. Wolverine is a great looking figure! I passed on the rest of Wave 1 because I'm not really a fan of the others. Silver Surfer and Daredevil look great, but Punisher does have a big goofy head, and Johnny Sorm has a real cartoonish face. The paint apps on the Marvel figures were great! The Origins figures are a different story. Whoever painted the Indiana Jones figures must have painted these. I'm not usually that picky, but at $8 a pop, I will be. I wanted to get every version of Wolverine, but the paint apps were just sloppy. One plus - I thought the Wolverine in both lines would have the same body mold. Not so. The Origins body is smaller than the Marvel body. That should make some fans with scale issues happy. There are also different heads as well. Deadpool was the main one I wanted, so I just got him for now. Gambit and Sabretooth looked good and Maverick was OK. Weapon X looked the worse as far as paint apps. If the paint apps improve and I have extra money, I'll probably get the rest.
