re-releasing Grey hulk in the latest wave could be their idea of an Ultimates hulk though... I really hope the new Hulk figure comes out in grey... easy variant, and you know how Hasbro loves their variants. On the other hand. I dig Ultimate Thor's hair but I'm in the process of finding a new face/head for him... every time I look at this one I think of Chris Elliot:
Really? I love Ultimate Thor's head sculpt, yours has better eyes than mine, I'll take that head if you don't have a use for it. Oh, I also just got Man-E-Faces MOC for $25 shipped. Score of the year so far!

Red hulk should have a mustache.
Grey Hulk- shaved sides of his head (the first release Hulk works better as grey hulk than green hulk) |

To be honest, the new Avengers Hulk is probably my favorite Hulk figure in terms of sculpt. I can't believe how much I like it now that I have it in hand. I think part of it is just how much it looks like Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. I do really love WWH Hulk though, and the new on looks great too. I'd like to see Hasbro pay Hulk more attention when it comes to the small details though, like with the Avengers Hulk.

The movie figures are a lot better than I was expecting and I have them close at hand. I did swap Cap's shield out for another movie cap and used Avenger non-helmet Thor's head on a Thor movie figure (that was not an easy swap) But movie Hulk is just fine by me-

Aside from Iron Man, and maybe Thor since I'm not sure how much I like the head sculpt, they are all great buys. Sure, there is the lack of articulation, but the sculpts are great. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that the two new Cap figures are my favorite Captain America figures in this scale. Well, maybe after Bucky Cap, lol. I enjoy Hulk's action feature....

Lack of wrist/ankle/torso articulation is a non-issue for me. don't care at all... now loose the ball jointed shoulders and elbow joints and we'll have issues

Why wasn't Thor an easy swap?

Movie Thor has a very tall neck and ball. Avengers Thor has a much lower neck. I dug the head almost to the breaking point and it still didn't look/fit real well. I ended up doing a ballectomy and chopping off movie Thor's ball right at the base and the cut Avengers Thor's ball in half. Glued that half to the top of Movie Thor's neck and then fit Avenger's Thor's head on that. it still has full motion now (really just up/down on the neck since the hair blocks most movement anyways) Probably wouldn't have been so much trouble if I put a bit more thought into it- but i kept changing my mind on how the transfer would work before settling on the ballectomy

Question for the group. Who's your favorite obscure character that you want to see made?
For me it would be Warstar. A Shiar Imperial guard, that hasn't seen any love since that one Toybiz did in the 90's X-men line. |
