When you mentioned the Hulk barely being taller than the Thor, did you mean the FO Hulk? I've been trying to get a FO Hulk for awhile with the clenched teeth, man that is a phenomenal sculpt. At this rate it seems like the next Hulk we get will be a BAF b/c he'll be so huge. Speaking of BAF Hulks, I can't stand the ML Rulk body, it's so geomteric, if you know what I mean, but the head sculpt is great. Never got that, or Crossbones either which I still really want. I missed him on ebay for $51 shipped last night. :( :( :(
I hit TRU while I was out, they had all a section and tags set up for the Avengers toys, but nothing. Since I worked there I thought I'd just ask the manager if he'd let me get some, and I also was planning on getting the SW pod racer pack & trying to get the $10 coupon. Nope, gf said no pod racer pack and she didn't want to deal with me asking about Avengers. She was cranky tonight, and I already gave her her awesome V-day gift to. Women.

Beat that woman into submission. Five across the eyes and back again should remind her as you take away the v-day stuff. ;)

To me, the best ML Hulk is the Ed McGuiness one that came in the 2-pack with Valkyrie. Same body as Red Hulk, with a different head sculpt. But to scale properly with that huge Thor, I'll probably end up getting a Marvel Select Hulk (already have the Ultimate (gray) one). Which is actually not a bad idea...

Select Hulk is probably to best idea. I think it's the FO Hulk since I've got Leader in a box downstairs- he's open-hand Hulk for Hulk slap action and most everyone hates that version. Maestro is probably my favorite ML Hulk

I'm not a big fan of the MS Hulk, although I have the Avengers Movie Hulk on preorder. The only problem with FO Hulk is no ab crunch, that's it. Even without that he's still better than the Rulk body Hulk. The body is just all squares and sharp lines. It's something that Hasbro should retool, but you know they won't, and they'll keep using it. >.< I'd still love to get FO Hulk and BAF Rulk, but can't see myself paying for them with what they go for on ebay.
The head sculpts on two pack Hulk is alright though. Valkyrie is decent, needs better paint though. It doesn't really look much like Valkyrie to me though, so I haven't tried hard to get her even though I love Secret Avengers and I'm trying to put together the team. Which reminds me, if anyone sees the IML figures on clearance (with good paint) I need both War Machines, Titanium Man, and Crimson Dynamo. I know, I've mentioned it before but it never hurts to ask again. Haha, yeah Nirvana, I think she'd just kill me, she watches a ton of lifetime after all. ;)

Where Target and my hisstank brethren failed me BBTS.com came through Yes, I had to buy another Capt.B/SpiderMan CP but I had used my original Capt.B for a custom anyways and now he can rock two scepters of power while fightin crime in the tub of spare MU figures

Great custom Lo! Man, Sinister looks awesome, but his face needs a paint job. He came out looking at bit more aged than he should, he looked great at NYCC.

Nice duo of Inferno, Lo!
I've been reading Wolverine and the X-Men (very enjoyable). This is no major event in itself, but it led me to uncover why i think I'd been steadily becoming ambivalent towards comics in the past few years-especially DC, and to a lesser degree Marvel-although Bendis can have a helping of my Earl Grey tea bag. Comics have been taking themselves waaay too seriously. Wolverine and the X-Men is fun and really enjoyable--it also isn't bogged down by a bunch of minutia dealing with continuity. All you need to know is there was a split with the X-Men, Cyclops is on the island, and Wolvie is restarting the school. I don't even know half the characters, but it's fun. Just what i needed......

Thank you guys- and oldie but a near nudie! good times.
I also am really having a blast ready wolverine and the x-men... the other x-titles... not so much. I've dropped most of them lately except UXF and surprisingly x-factor is a lot of fun- and other than the LOSH books the only thing I'm reading with DC is Suicide Squad- another team I've followed in all it's incarnations. When/If reality gets fixed I'll probably start picking some of the DC books up again- but it was too depressing reading about a batman and superman that were just getting to know each other vs. their classic good cop/bad cop relationship :( |
