I just kinda wish they would scrap the Separate Spider-man and Iron Man lines......you can put all those characters into the MU line.
We all know with the Capt America and Thor movies coming up they will both get separate lines which would be a waste.....although some of the Thor characters will be nice. It would make more sense to condense these lines to one and as a movie comes out just release movie/character figures. |

Yeah I am out of this line I collected roughly 50 figures and a Doom Tower (Secret Wars). I think they are unique and interesting I love the colors too. But do not care enough about Marvel comics in general to keep purchasing them.
If any ones interested in taking them off my hands a great deal awaits you. But I do admit they have suffered the non-movie tie in shaft.

Hopefully, this line will still be around in 2012. Looking at Hasbro's track record they can shut down production on a toyline based to low consumer purchasing or just for pete's sake in a blink of an eye (Wolverine and the X-men, Transformers Animated,Transformers Universe, Marvel Legends, G.I. Joe Sigma, G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary, etc.). None of their recent (2005-2010) toylines have a longevity of 4 years + besides Star Wars. To counter-act that from happening why not make each toyline better based on consumer input to see better sales?
And yes, while Hasbro doesn't mandate a price for each retailer to sell their product at, it sets the MSRP for retailers that would like to see it sale at a good rate. Smaller shops like comic book stores sell these figs at $12.50 a pop while novelty/movie stores like FYE and Suncoast sell them at $9.99 each. However places like Walmart, TRU and Target will most likely stick closer to the MSRP since they can order more of it and see it sell better at a lower price. Now completely stopping MU may be unrealistic but I'm frustrated by the choices made. Why not place the best figures in each wave, ramp up production on each of those figures and continually make better figures but in multiples for people to buy. This would make the best figures easier to find for christ sakes!!!!!!!!!!! For instance, make each wave have 8 figures per case but stock them with figures that will sell quick like Modern Thor, Colussus, Archangel, AIM Soldier, Kitty Pryde and make figures like Luke Cage and Modern Iron Man harder to find. We only see figures in revision cases for the most part and in each case there's three Iron Man and Spider Man figs taking up space. If they each have their own seperate lines then why bother placing them in future MU waves? If this toy brand needs to have them so desperately just to sell then its reflective on the retailer's confidence on how well the brand does. I truly don't believe retailers give a rats butt about what goes in each case assortment as long as it sells well in general. I just don't get it. Back in the day when Kenner had Secret Wars and later on when ToyBiz had seperate X-men and Marvel Classic lines things were never this sparse or in short supply. Now that Hasbro has Marvel Universe, its either pay scalper/on-line prices or don't bother looking for it stores for the first three months of its release. Whats the point???

I disagree to a point on the separate lines, only because Iron Man, and Spidey are clogging the pegs in three (four, if you count that crap ass iron man teen cartoon) lines. ENOUGH. Unless the figure is different (NOT a repaint) Then there is no reason for another figure, imo

But yeah, I see your point, the height of my "comic days" was the mid-90s and I see a lot popular guys from that era are MIA. I think at least part of the issue is that, for some reason, Hasbro is going with "more modern" character selection, or really iconic characters. Maybe part of it is that some don't want to remember the crash that hit right about that time. Bishop really doesn't fall into that catagory. But my hope is that the comic packs might give incentive to Hasbro to revisit more from that era (assuming they don't keep doing crap like using issues from barely 2 years ago)
