Ahh, ye olde Hasbro vs. Toy Biz debate. Shin basically summed up most of it, but there was one other factor that affected Hasbro's MLs: They were running out of characters that appealed to more than just niche audiences. Toy Biz had already cranked out most of the high-demand figures (especially if you factor in tangent lines like Spider-Man Classics, X-Men Classics, etc...), and if folks recall, even the last two or three Toy Biz assortments were starting to get pretty toasty on the shelves prior to the loss of the license.
Basically, the line was getting to the point where it would only appeal to hardcore comic fans...and those are a very small audience, all things considered (just look at the monthly sales for most comics...even the highest sellers rarely break past 150 - 200 thousand. |

I don't know if it's Hasbro's case assortments, the retailers' ordering practices, or both, but I feel like something needs to change in order to improve the availability of these MU figures. |

I searched high and low for a Black Widow at regular retail. Hit all my usual places, all of the out-of-the-way spots, and even most of my last-resort locales. Eventually, I broke down and picked her up at a comic shop for $14. It was more than I wanted to spend but I was running out of options.
I don't know if it's Hasbro's case assortments, the retailers' ordering practices, or both, but I feel like something needs to change in order to improve the availability of these MU figures. I think in this particular case it comes down to certain scalping types thinking "hey, there's a short packed female figure in this wave that's a favorite of fans and will be appearing in one of the summer's biggest films. I better buy them all up and sell them on eBay to help pay my rent." Of course I'm giving such way too much credit for their thought processes. It's more like "ugh, girl hot, buy all, sell eBay."

Or it could be like in my area where only 1 case of that wave was ever in any of the 5 stores around.

I know it's probably an easy mod,but I keep thinking that kitty should have come apart. So you could pose her half way out of the floor or something.Does that make sence?

Place your figure in hot water and she will fall apart easily with a butter knife. Have fun!!!!
